I don't normally post videos, but this one is so stunning that I have to.

While I'd like to see President Obama get more credit for the troop drawdowns and diplomatic overtures he and SoS Clinton have managed to accomplish, I also agree he needs to be much more aggressive in reducing our world-wide military presence.

This needs to go viral now.

2. Absolutely!
Not only is this a failed foreign policy strategy, it is a failure economically. Resources spent on troops abroad are draining the country's coffers.

I just hope they bring back so of our high tech jobs with them. Infact will be on the street welcoming them if they did. Just kidding about being on the street but I sure would like a job invasion from China

4. +1 "These policies are not isolationist" How did the Soviet Union Fall?
There are two arguments. Some say it was Afghanistan, but it really was the people of the Soviet Union deciding to dismantle it, period. If you get into the history, it was Gorbachev, it was internal reform. We never went to War with Russia. What Reagan did right was creating an environment in the talks where there was enough hope of peace, that the people no longer felt so threatened by an external force that they couldn't discuss internal restructuring, openness. (Perestroika, Glasnost) And when they did, everything changed.

So the USSR, which had tens of thousands of nukes, vast army, every WMD imaginable, didn't warrant the same kind of military paranoia that is the middle eastern countries are being treated to. Rather they were treated with talks, and they self dismantled. So WHY are most in the current Republican line up so afraid to try this PROVEN technique of making friends? Why do they have to resort to expensive militarism?

When pressed, they will try to retell the truth of Soviet history, saying it was spending on Afghanistan that brought them down. yet they use to this argument to advocate for interventionism, which manifests as an ongoing 2 billion dollar a week intervention in Afghanistan. Which really makes no sense.

7. Because, according to leading Republicans (Limbaugh),
Muslims cannot be reasoned with. Then, there is war profit to consider.

9. ?
You lost me.

What's this got to do with Ron Paul beyond the fact that he shares this foreign policy POV? The video doesn't endorse him or advocate voting for him; it never mentions him at all.

I think the only reason Texas is mentioned is because it's slightly larger than Afghanistan.

Sounds like him. I like the video, like I said.

16. Oh. I didn't recognize the voice.
It sounded like you thought the video was an endorsement of him or something, and that confused me. I didn't see his name anyplace and didn't recognize the voice in the ending narrative.

Sorry.

8. The Horror
Must be stopped. The Horror exists, and it is the elite Americans who perpetuate it, and many of the 99% who stay silent are complicit by their silence. I hate those people, the scum doing it, and the scum afraid to stop them, because they quietly agree with the evil ones. Great video to get the message out, kudos!

12. acutally Obama didn't arrange the draw-downs, he actually tried to extend our state
and he has expanded our wars.

We are leaving Iraq as agreed to before Bush left office.

We would stay longer but Obama couldn't get Iraq to agree to give our troops
immunity for any war crimes they might commit.

withdrawal date! OBAMA told prospective voters he'd END the war in Iraq the very day he took office. Told voters they could take that to the bank!

I'd vote for Santa Claus if I knew for SURE he was gonna bring ALL our foreign-based troops back home. Who the HELL do we think we are, anyways???

Sorry. I don't agree with Ron Paul on a lot, but he's dead-on right on this.

It's the way it was all put together in the video that's masterful, though, and my opinion on the presentation has not changed a bit.

18. The problem with good message from Ron Paul ...
The further you go back in time, the more sense he made. You know... when it wasn't as cool to know who he was...

After his boy grew up, I think the latent "screw health care" gene kicked in, and now they are both an embarrassment, negating anything GOOD Ron ever did in Congress.

Pity....
