Michael Moore is doing for access to healthcare what Al Gore is doing for the climate crisis.

I have so much respect for what both of them are doing with the means available to them.

I am Apollo11, and I recommended this thread. B-)

3. Congress doesn't care about our health care
They have an excellent plan of their own and don't feel the pain normal Americans go through.

I know of only one Senator who is not on Congress comprehensive insurance, Sharrod Brown of Ohio has for years not taken the Health Care plan offered to Congress. He stated many times that until everyone has insurance he will not take it.

Anyone know of any others?

10. Not to piss in your cornflakes or anything, but.....
Sherrod probably has pretty good coverage through his wife's job as a Cleveland Plain Dealer columnist.

I love Sherrod Brown, but just sayin'.

4. Sicko Best Documentary Ever?
I think so, I think the Oscars should have the chutzpah to give the best film oscar to Sicko (not in the documentary category).

6. Gingrey and Price (of Georgia) are both doctors
And they'll both use the DVD's as coasters. Both men are heavily lobbied by their former colleagues, who don't want to give up the insurance gravy train. :grr:

7. H.R. 676
The bill has 85 cosponsors, has been in committee since February 2nd, and has had no action taken on it since. Looks like the Dem leadership needs to get behind it for anything to happen.

8. I hope at least some of them watch it
The thing that got me was that it wasn't about all the people in America who don't have health insurance (which is bad enough). It was about how the people who DO have health insurance are still getting screwed.

To NOT give me husband a blood sugar test.

They told him he did NOT have diabetes.

His blood sugar was in the three to five hundreds for at least six weeks.

Till they finally listened to me when I said something was wrong.

Then they put him on the one Insulin type medication he should never ever have had.

I fail to see how a nationalized health insurance plan could be any worse.

9. Strap 'em down like in Clockwork Orange.
Keep their eyelids propped open and make them watch it 24/7 until they see that they must abolish the healthcare-for-profit cartel.

12. It has taken so long to get here. No profiteering on people's illnesses.
It is not "socialized medicine" as Rudy and others try to frame it. Socialized medicine would mean the government owns the hospitals and Doctors. It is national health care insurance paid for by our tax dollars. Dr.s nurses, and hospitals all remain as they are...it just means the bills are covered, and it is not for profit so no Ins. corporations are making big bucks off denying you treatment after paying premiums all those years. Ins. lobbyists and big pharm have 40 reps per congress person so they will try everything to prevent this from going through the legislature. (also shows how much profit they've made off us over the years). Congress must resist the money to do what is right and we must make them feel the pressure of not being reelected if they vote against national healthcare. There's nop reason to vote against it except you are being bribed.

13. Bravo!
It won't succeed on the first try, or probably the second, or maybe even on the tenth, but like Conyers says, we have to start now to get where we need to go.

Well done!
