I have put a few incidents together and now the CNN report that really throws smoke and Mirrors

this is really why the Navy is worried and sounding the alarm signal

Now remember China has denied our navy ships into Hong Kong
and remember Russia has left the Conventional Arms treaty

plus another incident which is brought up in the film recently happened

connecting the dots

Everything is connected

I'm thinking that China isn't our friend These are quite interesting times

4. At one time they were Bush's friend
but no I never thought they were

I thought they were playing us so they could get our technology manufacturing and software

I'll add China made an example of blowing a satellite up in space to warn Bush & company

I think China fully knows whats going on and the chief reason control of Iran's oil is to keep China from getting fuel
We like them because we have a Huge trade deficit with them and they take our money

9. From the video, the implication was that Iran could shut the straits with
mini subs, while the Kilos hunted US ships around the world, even threatening our coastal cities.

IOW, Iran as a hostile agressor.

WE are the agressor. If Iran wanted to destroy us, all they'd have to do is turn off the taps. Europe and China would collapse in oil depression, and as all our assets are owned by Europe and China, we'd fall with them.

They wouldn't have to fire a shot, much less shell San Diego.

And if there was a real shooting war, their navy would last maybe a week against ours. The only way their silent subs could evade us would be by doing nothing - which pretty much negates their effectiveness in warfare. The first shot they fire, they're dead. And they know it.

This is just 'be scared of the Iranian boogeyman' propaganda.

10. So your opinion is that Iran's navy is nothing to worry about
Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 12:02 AM by lovuian
and that all of this is the Bush War propoganda

You could be right

But then China's submarine popped up right next to our subs during war games and waved hello

Thats embarasing to the Mighty US Navy

close enough to take a picture and wave to US subs right next to them
And Iran has bought 12 subs from China and we don't here the Congress putting sanctions on China do we
Why cause China is a whole different animal than Iran... but this is China's testing ground to see how well their technology is against our in real life battle...

remember we thought the US Army was invincible and we are having difficulties in Afghanistan and Iraq
these are countries less military equipped than we are Vietnam won their war and we ran out of there with helicoptors

I don't want to go to war with Iran because I think they could do some heavy damage to us
And I don't think the navy wants to go to war with Iran either

I sure hope your right that Iran can't hurt us... but I disagree
Iran is no Iraq
and believe me when I say I don't want war with Iran

13. I don't want war with Iran either, but not because I'm scared of them.
It's because it is wrong.

Militarily, we are a match for anyone, more than a match for most. We did not lose militarily in Vietnam - we lost politically because, like in Iraq, we were fighting a morally unjustifiable war.

Iran is not a threat to our country. It's navy is not a threat to our navy. It might be a danger to a few individual ships, but c'mon, we outnumber them by 25 to 1, and I have no doubt that the navy has analyzed all available data on that Chinese sub and that next time it won't be so easy because there's no such thing as a "silent" sub - they just didn't know what to listen for.

And if the Chinese were producing super-high tech subs that could evade the US fleet, do you think they'd really sell them to Iran? I suspect what they sold Iran were just ordinary diesel subs - probably 20 year old models. Equal to anything else in the region EXCEPT the US fleet. The gulf fleet is in much greater danger from land-based anti-ship missiles than from the Iranian navy.

In any case, I don't see Iran picking a fight with the US. It just doesn't pay. Even in places where we were 'beaten' like Vietnam, we lost 50,000 - the Vietnamese lost four MILLION. Nobody could see that as a bargain.

If there is a war with Iran, WE will start it. I guarantee.

20. I guess you feel that the country who spends the most money
on weapons and has higher technology wins... Vietnam and Korea showed us thats not necessarily so...as well as Afghanistan and Iraq

Now granted politics come to play but the Viet Cong kicked our butts and yes they lost 4 million but we high tailed it out of there
Those people were fighting on their own soil and we were not. Politically thats a good point but make no mistake even militarily
we lost. Gadgets and machines don't win wars... the best war machine is man... Patton said it He take a foot soldier anyday over a tank. There have been many battles won when the numbers were few and weapons low...George Washington battle with the British is an example.

Your assuming that the Chinese gave Iran their old junk... I think Iran is smart enough to want the good stuff and knows enough to obtain it. And why would China give it to them because of OIL which China's army needs...

But I agree US is aching for a fight they just have to convince the Americans to fight

3. "Now remember China has denied our navy ships into Hong Kong
and remember Russia has left the Conventional Arms treaty ...."

And, REMEMBER ... BushCo needs to instill irrational fear into the American public to pave the way for a war with Iran.

The US has been playing a childish game of 'I'm not touching you' with Iran for some time - in Iraq, in the Gulf, in the media, etc.

Guess the Admin was worried the 'nuke' scare might not work the second time around.

11. And then some.
This one will be nasty, the empire is faltering and in need of support it can only obtain through global conquest.

With only a slim, and fading, majority of citizens supporting action on Iran, another Gulf of Tonkin is ripe to happen.

The Mullahs aren't stupid, they will make the US start this, and not give them the cover of a false flag if they can avoid it.

12. don't forget the Sunburn missile
a Russian anti-ship missile the Iranians possess for which we have no defense. It's much better than the Exocet missile that nearly cut the USS Stark in half in 1987 and sunk the HMS Sheffield during the Falkland War. I strongly caution anyone that thinks we can attack Iran and they're just going to sit there and not do anything back to us.

17. "a modern war is needed to show the obsolescence of our carrier fleet"
something I have read repeatedly. The US has not fought a serious naval battle in how many years? War games suggest that our carrier fleet goes to the bottom pretty quickly against modern anti-ship weaponry.

Here we are again...sticking our finger in their faces, and then we get excited if they decide to swipe at us.

16. Cool slideshow, but-
why is this boogeyman propaganda on DU? This belongs over at Redstate-dot-Kook. So if the chinese subs are so good, then why is the main topic of the slideshow not China, because they would have ten times as many of there own super-awesome subs. I think this post is pretty retarded. It all comes back to oil. If we kick the fucking oil, which we can, the fighting and dramatic slideshows of large falice-shaped objects would dry up. Give me a gosh darn plug-in hybrid already. Game over. Play your stupid war-games on your Nintendo. That's what it's for. War is so Dark-Ages.

18. just wanted to add another point
About a year ago I read an article that in recent years Russia has quietly been developing missiles that are so fast that our warships can't pick them up on radar until it is too late. The author of said article assumes that some of them have been sold to Iran. Don't ask me but I agree with those who argue that we can barely hurt an unarmed country and we are getting in over our heads if we engage a country who is fully capable of defending itself and if not they have friends who are perfectly capable of helping them.

21. I don't want war and I'm just trying to inform people
the CNN report that is the official propoganda channel shows Americans little hydrophoil boats and mines is Iran's navy

You don't see the Kilo subs on there do you ...their making Iran look like Iraq dangerous but nothing to worry about
the ending statement US Navy is the greatest and most powerful

thats propoganda

my video doesn't say we are all powerful and mighty
it says a Chinese sub pulled up unbeknowst to our US Navy during war manuevers and waved

and Iran has bought Kilo Chinese Subs

I want Americans to know what their President and military are getting Americans into

Iran is NO Iraq
Its Bigger tougher and smarter and they are fighting for their country

to be honest I fear for our navy our carriers are very vulnerable
