I can't believe that nobody posted this yet.

Like most of the candidates, Obama is repeating points he has already said in recent speeches. But his delivery is confident and powerful. The audience seems to include a lot of Obama supporters. Watching this video, you have to believe that here is a candidate who can go all the way to the Whitehouse.

Until now I have not counted myself as a die-hard Obama supporter. I have been trying to keep an open mind.

But based on this video it looks like Obama has a capacity to connect that none of the other candidates has.

I especially love his line about "a war that should never have been authorized".

great speech

For every one person who watched this speech here on DU, there are 2000 people who watched it on YouTube.

The number of people who watched Obama's speech on YouTube is more than 100 times greater than the number of people who watched John Edwards speech to the DNC Fall meeting (adding the totals for the videos posted by johnedwards and NCDem - less than 2000 views).

The 220 thousand views was the number I saw for Obama's speech to the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Sorry for mixing up those numbers. Let's call it an early morning mix-up. :+

So Joe Biden is in the lead at almost 5000 views, probably because he has his YouTube clips linked directly from the video library on his campaign website www.joebiden.com

I had a look at www.barackobama.com but was not able to find a link to the video of his speech to the DNC Fall Meeting. Kind of crazy if you ask me. They have Barack TV with clips of Michelle's speeches - but they only have the transcript of Barack's speech to the DNC on November 30th.

So if the numbers tell us anything - it's that not many folks are taking the time to watch these speeches or listen to them. At least not via YouTube.
