1. I thought she did a great job of disarming that question...

16. She did, it was funny and cute!
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 03:25 AM by DianaForRussFeingold
But..why, didn't someone call them on asking such a moronic question to begin with?

Obama seemed just a bit patronizing, "your likable enough" --geez...
Don't you think pandering to the media makes them look weak? I do!

19. I thought Obama was more than patronizing early on...
when he kept referring to Senator Clinton as "Hillary" rather than "Senator Clinton"...

Granted, they all addressed each other by first name as the evening went on, but I thought Obama's performance in that respect was rude..

20. I noticed that and cringed ...

:hi: but, "you're likable enough,,Hillary" in the context of responding to her being (less liked) was blatantly condescending and yes, rude!!!
However,Hillary's supporters say 'it's just being buddy buddy!'.

IMO, he treats her more like a secretary, than his rival--
"you're likable enough,,,Hillary" --- now, go! Bring me my coffee ...

2. I'm not a fan of Senator Clinton. However, her response to the
jack ass question about her popularity being low "... it hurts my feelings" was the most honest response I've ever heard her make.

8. The question was idiotic
It's insulting to all of them to have to even answer it.

9. YES IT WAS!
I told my bf that the questions posed to Dems were ones intended to try and embarrass them, like this and the one about admitting a mistake, did moderator Charlie do this crap to the Repubs, no! The only thing he did with them is point out QUICKLY what people say are each's biggest single negative but didn't ask about them. Asking the "nice" comment was ridiculous, and even though I cringed watching Hillary make that face, I felt upset for her, that Charlie posed this crappy question to her. Obama's response was funny and softly said, but yeah, it's still a bit too sarcastic, but I guess he was being honest, and felt she's not THAT nice, but nice enough. Actually, what he said was pretty bold, but at least he said it nicely, he was trying to diffuse the situation too.

:hide: don't you hate it when she is 'likable' like that?
It kinda pulls at your heartstrings...
makes you almost want to vote for her... :spray:

3. As if this guy knows the 'mindset' of NH voters. The ques. was a smear
Like " Since you've stopped beating your wife...do you feel differently about National health care". He's assuming the likeability attitude from the MSM and the question was totally out of place. Like asking Obama, since Hillary is white and your are just a black... see how suggestive? Some one should have told hi that question was not only out of place, assumptive, but down right rude. "Since most voters like Obama better than you do you think that will have an effect on the general?"....what a prig. asswipe

4. I think she handled it well...
"Well, it hurts my feelings...pause...but I guess I'll just have to carry on" (dismisses and disarms the smear)

5. Amazing how Barack can't even manage to decently compliment Sen. Clinton
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 12:51 AM by journalist3072
"You're likeable enough." What the hell kind of comment was that?

And please don't tell me we're going for the "He's the one I'd rather have a beer with" mentality.

I thought we did that in 2000, and we see how well that worked out.

10. This Obama supporter agrees with you
but none of the Iowa survivors are knocking me out. Not one would make a truly great president -- they're out of their league.

Sometimes, Barack, the right thing to do is keep your mouth shut.

everyone is laughing at senator clintons very well handled response to the shitty question, and obama says that, its the kind of thing friends say to each other jokingly in moments like that.
