Talk show host Stephanie Miller was on Hardball today talking about Rep. Peter Stark’s remarks about Bush’s SCHIP veto and should he apologize over them when she said this about Chris Matthews:

Miller: …it gives other right wing tools like you an issue Chris…”

Matthews: Like, I’m a right wing tool?”

Miller: You must be doing your job because I heard someone on FOX call you a liberal. To me it fills the news cycles with this instead of Iraq.

Matthews genuinely looks stunned and not very happy. She says later that she was kidding. He brings up Media Matters…The other right wing tool, hehe…Kevin Miller, says Stark should be censured in Congress…lol

I'm not a fan of groupthink radio and frankly don't know one radio personality from another but here she had a bully pulpit and she backed down. Chris Matthews actually intimidated her! I don't get it.

This is old news, but since nobody else had posted it here, I thought I may as well.

ambitious and is much milder on tv than on the radio. She is very funny, 'though.

I don't think you'll be invited back on Hardball anytime soon.

I've listened to her show a few times and found her moderately entertaining... and I was entertained when she called Matthews a tool...

... but then she backed down and did the "I was joking" thing. :eyes:
Had she stuck to what she said I'd have a LOT more respect for her.


I'm pretty sure the next time I hear her show on the radio I'll change the station.

but then she had to pay the piper and and try to defend what she said. She couldn't do, so she had to eat it. Embarrassing.

It really doesn't matter why she completely caved... the fact is she did.
Pretty simple.

A tool is useful for doing things.

Chris Matthews, OTOH, is useless.

1) He IS a right wing tool - or at least he plays one on TV most of the time.

2) I don't like people who throw insults and then say "I was kidding" to try to avoid defending themselves. I work with a man who frequently loses his temper and swears, then says "I was kidding", like that is a get out of jail free card.

And then the next week after that wondering why Tweety bailed on his promise to appear on her show.

Stephanie Millers has no balls, in the figurative sense.
