Why is it that the republicans believe the way to beat an
opponent is to lie about them ?  Rather than promote
themselves .  And in my life time it seems the Republicans
know no other way to campaign.

This strategy they use reminds me of a co-worker who was a fanatic late-life convert to Catholicism. One night he and I were working late and i found REAMS of stuff he'd printed out PROVING that the Mormons were a cult.

I had the same thought then -- why do you feel the need to prove somebody else wrong, unless you're unsure your beliefs are absolutely true?
