Heard about this new site over on Daily Kos (
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/23/103044/736/731/441674 -- h/t UN Dispatcher):
www.ondayone.org
From UN Dispatcher: "The site is a sister site to my own UN Dispatch, and strives to promote thoughtful discussion of US global engagement by asking people what the next president should do 'on day one.'"
The video of Ambassador Wilson is not the most compelling YouTube video I have ever seen, but his stated point ("end cowboy diplomacy") and the idea behind this site more than make up for it.
So... count me in. I am not only all for holding the president accountable on his/her first day, but I really like the idea of using a blog and website to do it. We are already out here posting diaries, venting online and raising consciousness in our communities, this seems like a logical place to collect these thoughts and make an even bigger impact by going straight to the source.
I will be checking out the site more today and will update you all once I post. Let's get this going... let me know if you are already on the site and/or if you have posted an idea for the on day one accountability. Would love to see how this all plays out in the coming months.
