105. Being the MSM media is run by the Fascist, why can KO say this?
Throwing out the lies of right wing attack machine in the media telling us that the MSM is run by liberals, can anyone answer why KO is allowed to be on MSNBC? I sometimes worry about KO because he seems partisan at times and part of Agenda Journalism, it is nice to see someone other than Coulter, Savage, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Limbaugh. Further, I have been saying since 1983 that the US is Fascist, and everyone thought I was nuts. Now there is no doubt how far things have gone. End Tyranny and Fascism now. Prevent the Democratic Party from supporting Fascism. And Restore Democracy and Truth to our Nation. Please?

I tip my hat to KO. This man is risking his life and profession to yell at the top of his lungs that "the king is wearing no clothes". The rest of this f*cked up country goes on playing games to "be nice" to this idiot leading this criminal administration.

Hats off to KO. This man deserves our undying respect.

46. Actually, I saw an interview with KO and he said he has
NEVER received grief from MSNBC or NBC management over his "comments". He actually said they wanted him to do more of these and make them a regular feature but that he can only "do" them when he gets motivated by circumstances.

In my mind that should be a big pat on the back to MSNBC/NBC also even if they are only motivated by profit, which is what I suspect.

To be honest, I guess I meant more along the lines of the O'Reilly/Goldberg types in the media, but it is interesting to see that dynamic at play inside MSNBC.

"It was perfect and perfectly eloquent!"

Yes...indeed it was, Snappyturtle!

"What is sad is that our elected congressman aren't echoing KO." Some are... but the MSM rarely pick it up.

What is saddest of all is Bush would not even understand half the words KO said. It ain't "My Pet Goat". He used big words. But who cares if Georgie gets it? Dick does. And so does at least some of the GOP Congressfolk (yes there are some who are not clueless...alas not my 2 Senators (NC) Libby Dole...Pu-leez!)

Was that the lamest walk-out ever or what?

88. You are so correct....I was thinking the same thing about the president!
Of course, he didn't understand all those big words. Maybe Josh Bolten or Condi could walk him through it.

I have two lame senators also: Hutchison and Cornyn! Just got a long e-mail letter reply from Cornyn to the FISA bill. What a crock....did you know they are protecting our civil liberties even though he wants past and future immunity for the telecoms? Cornyn said that the telecoms are facing billions of dollars in lawsuits for their role in assisting the NSA! Well, too bad.....Seems to me he's big on protecting the liberties of the corporations not ours.

Thankfully brave men like KO are helping to get the word out. I fear for KO.

And, yes it was a very lame walk-out!

30.  Fascism -- Bushcheneyism -- Monarchism -- Theocracy -- All The Same Thing
Fascism -- authoritarianism -- monarchism -- theocracy -- it's all the same thing.

A belief that some minority has the right to rule the majority. It matters little if it's the true believers, a master race, a family dynasty, the chosen people, a ruling class, or the current DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy.

It's all anti-democratic, thus Anti-American.

48. Reminds me of O'Reilly...
I happened upon that windbag the other night ranting about MSNBC and how horribly unprofessional they are in that there is no clear division between what is news and what is opinion.

Yeah, the king dick on FOX NEWS was complaining about another network's lack of clear division between opinion and fact.

O'Reilly then immediately shifted over to a news "update", which featured, of course, the attractive blonde female newscaster's opinions on the election.

The true irony is that Bill did not see the irony.

Yes, MSNBC has opinion segments, but they are clearly defined as editorials and I have never been unsure there whether I was hearing news or opinion. On the other hand, with some studying of Fox News, that is exactly what is lacking there - any division whatsoever. They jump between opinion and "fact" constantly, and the "relaxed" newspeople even throw their opinions into the middle of a story.... "X happened today, can you believe it? That is just ridiculous." I hear crap like that all the time.

So, in your opinion, what is so incredibly "unprofessional" about voicing an opinion in an editorial segment? It has been done in the news since news began. Please, do tell.

38. Like great-grandfather, like great-grandson.
Samuel Bush believed in fascism. As if it were an ideal of federalism. The "neo-cons" are merely followers of the same ideology.

George W Bush has done his great-grandfather proud. As well as his grandfather. Who are smiling up from Hell. Prescott Bush wanted to overthrow the government. George W Bush finally did it.

And his father of course. Who knew he'd lost the confidence of his own party and ran for a second term but knew it belonged to someone else. Knew it belonged to Bill Clinton. Who was used as a "gatekeeper" until George W Bush was ready to overthrow the government. He will rot in Hell along with George W Bush. Along with quite a few Democrats who brought us the Clintons as the "gatekeepers" including Bob Strauss. Mr. Democrat himself. And also a good friend of George HW Bush.

People just simply do not want to connect the dots. At least Keith Olbermann has connected some of them.

Keith Olbermann is the only person I know of in the msm that actually was calling the Bush adminstration out on their criminality back when it wasn't fashionable. same vein, called for "looking into the medical records of congress members", odd how these people want all of the info they can get on US, but when it comes to getting info on THEM it becomes a whole new story.

It is the invasion of the privacy of citizens of this nation, and the bold hypocrisy that make this piece of legislation even more odious. bush, and his minions from totalitarian hell, should be tried for treason, and spend the rest of their lives in seclusion.

57. Room 641A- you need to know about this

In 2003, Room 641A of a large telecommunications building in downtown San Francisco was filled with powerful data-mining equipment for a "special job" by the National Security Agency, according to a former AT&T technician. It was fed by fiber-optic cables that siphoned copies of e-mails and other online traffic from one of the largest Internet hubs in the United States, the former employee says in court filings.

Neither AT&T nor the federal government has admitted even the existence of a secret room, and the Justice Department is arguing that the cases should be dismissed because their subject matter is a state secret. The communications company, meanwhile, says it is prevented from properly defending itself because of national security reasons and dismisses the employee who briefly saw the room and worked on supporting equipment as a "line technician who . . . never had access to the 'secret room' he purports to describe." <--- that is as scarey an excuse as it is laughable

The allegations by Mark Klein, who worked for AT&T's WorldNet Service, underscore the government's dependence on major telecommunications providers to physically tap optic fibers that carry electronic signals around the globe. Some of the evidence also suggests that the NSA efforts were not limited to overseas e-mail communications and included the collection of purely domestic traffic.

"I conclude that AT&T has constructed an extensive -- and expensive -- collection of infrastructure that collectively has all the capability necessary to conduct large-scale covert gathering of -based communications information, not only for communications to overseas locations, but for purely domestic communications as well," said Marcus, a veteran computer network executive who worked at GTE, Genuity and other companies before joining the FCC.

James X. Dempsey, policy director at the Center for Democracy and Technology, said the evidence gleaned from the AT&T case appears to confirm that "there is a massive surveillance capability built into the network" by the federal government. But, Dempsey added, "the mere fact that the capability has been built and utilized still does not answer the fundamental question -- has it been exercised under constitutional parameters? That, in a way, is what these cases are trying to get to."

I could just hear KO saying what Patrick Henry said while the Constitutional Convention was debating over whether or not the include the Bill of Rights: "Why not a Bill of Rights? Why not a short document stating that our rights are preserved? Are you afraid it will use up too much paper?" And I could just hear Patrick Henry delivering KO's comments. Yes, KO should go down in history as a great American bravely speaking out as we fight the Bush regime and its efforts to turn this country into a police state.

72. just ONE problem.
later on KO (who is a personal hero of mine) said something to Richard Lewis that disurbed be greatly.

Lewis was asking/demanding when we'll impeach.

KO said something to the effect of 'if you impeach you make him more popular'.

anybody else hear that????

now PLEASE don't misunderstand me...I'm not saying KO doesn't WANT impeachment. KO is one of the few reasons I can stand to have the television on. I LOVE THIS GUY.

I'm taking notice of what might be a common opinion among politicians/pundits/etc.

I'm wondering...is this what people are thinking???? Is that perhaps a factor in the slowness/resistance to impeachment?

that really bugs me!!

103. I got the same vibe
Keith suggested the only reason Bush wasn't impeached ages ago is because of the fear that it would make Bush more popular. Bill Clinton's popularity ratings were in the 70's when he was really impeached in the late 90's.

It was speculation on Keith's part on a reason why Bush wasn't impeached already, not that Keith subscribes to this. It was his rational as to why this hasn't already happened.

I couldn't help thinking...is it possible that people in the upper reaches of power/media etc. actually think that Bu$h will get more popular if we impeach him?

this boggles my mind....

#1 if they're right, then....we really have crossed over through the looking glass, Alice.

#2 if they're wrong (which is what I think), then HOW THE FUCK DO THEY GET THIS STUFF? it's preventing justice from taking place!!!!!

I just don't know.

over his Impeachment and the blue dress/ blow job shit... Think about it, he was Impeached for lying about an affair and now his wife is running for office 8yrs later... God Forbid Georgie become popular.. or one of his family members regains the WhiteHouse.. Doubt it would happen... Georgie has seriously fucked up and broke seriousl laws.

Bu$h could get more popular if we impeached him????

Of course it was true with Bill Clinton...enough people could see that it was bullshit.

But this criminal????

I mean, I guess you could be right, but......my god, what the hell universe have we slipped into? This just can't be right. We're going to let these bastards get away because they'd become more popular if we impeach??
