2. Crazy, isn't it?
Some folks have their little delusions, I guess. They think the Democratic Party is the same as the Republican Party, too.

3. Who knows?
One thing I can think of is that some are grossly underestimating the damage Bush did to politics in general, (not to mention this country, other peoples countries, hell, probably some of his poison has leaked into every little evil crack and hole in the world)and think what we're dealing with is a business as usual kind of political climate, instead of the political equivalent of a hopefully recovering toxic wasteland.

5. That's one thing....
I think that two years ago, everybody was saying, "It took us eight years to create this mess, and it will take us eight years to get out of it."

But this year, people are getting impatient with the process. Some people (like me) look at what's happened in the past 18 months and are very pleased at what's been done so far -- can't wait to see what the next 18 months will bring. But others think everything (especially their personal issue) should have been resolved by now.

Another thing is that Obama is not NEARLY the liberal or progressive that the Left thought he was, just as he isn't NEARLY the Radical Socialist that the Right thought he was. In the campaign, he called on Left and Right to make common cause against our common enemies. The guy is far more moderate than many of his detractors believe him to be.
