in Indiana and 16,000 copies of my "Vote Early!" palmcards are going out to the attendees!
:woohoo:
The really frustrating situation is that early voting begins on Monday -- the exact same day that all voter registration forms are due. Seriously. April 7 is the last day to submit voter registration forms and many thousands of forms will be submitted from a variety of sources. It will take 1-2 weeks before the voter registration forms handed in on Monday will be in the official database. Voters can check online before they go vote early and we just have to make sure that they do that so that they don't wind up waiting in line to vote early some time this week and then wind up being told to come back in a couple of weeks. I think we've managed to get this information all onto a business-card-sized palmcard. :D
The voter registration deadline - one month before election day (May 6th) - was set before the legislature came up with early voting. In the olden days, before early voting, a month provided more than enough time to enter all of the voter registrations submitted on the deadline. Now it is just nuts!
