A welcome to all to the Barack Obama Group --

Hi, DUers!

After posting thousands of posts here at DU for many years, I haven't posted since Inauguration Day. With Obama in the White House (and Bush out of it), I, in my personal life, needed to move back to spending time on long-neglected things outside the political realm.

I, under the DU rules, organized and gained approval for the DU "Barack Obama Group." I drafted the brief statement that introduces the forum. You'll notice that the Group, at that time, was dedicated to "Senator Obama" -- long before he was our President.

I look in on DU every day, still contribute to the fund drives, and do a lot of "rec-cing" posts. I noted with interest the renewed activity in this forum, and just wanted to acknowledge that, and to say, "Hello," and "Welcome"!

Thank you for taking the initiative so long ago.

And to a point, that is what is going on at DU.
Many who are feeling better about politics,
are no longer posting, and those who are still angry and dismayed are.
That's why DU appears so intensely anti-Democratic President Obama these days...
cause those who understood how perilous Bush's reign was,
are much more at ease now that the country is in capable hands,
once more.
