Seems some have forgotten or misinterpreted the meaning of Progressive. What I don't see in this definition is any description of the All OR NOTHING table pounding that seems to be rampant. What I do see, is a description of process.

Am I missing something?

1. I think the issue is more about ideologue verses pragmatist
There are many that refuse to budge from their ideology goals and there are others that are unwilling to bend or compromise. As a self professed pragmatist (for full disclosure) I think that many that refuse to budge have never been a position of having to get things done or be rersponsible for results. So we all share progressive values the problem is some people are unwilling to bend or give, and they find the fault (you noted) in those that don't stand with them.

4. Obama is a pragmatist.
Pragmatists get things done.

He has to navigate through a multi-level obstacle course. That anything of worth gets done in this environment is because someone has outmaneuvered the opposition.

2. I feel very Progressive, thank you, Bobbie Jo..
It's like the misnomer of the "conservatives" now..what are they conservative about? The Environment? All they do is lie..how could anybody tell what they're about?

And, so called "progressives"? They're lying too and marching with teabaggers and getting cozy with grover norquist..that's not progressive..neither is "kill bill".

3. How about liberal?
I'm pissed at "conservatives" all too successful efforts to make that a dirty word. I'd rather stuff it back in their faces.
