"Bush, Putin Plan July Meeting in Maine" --My poor homestate!!!
WASHINGTON (AP) - With U.S.-Russian relations under heavy strain, President Bush and President Vladimir Putin will meet July 1 and 2 in Kennebunkport, Maine, administration officials said Wednesday.

"It's an opportunity for him and President Putin to continue what is always, for the two of them, candid and very honest conversations about things that matter," Bush spokesman Tony Snow said.

Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush, has an oceanfront compound in Kennebunkport, and the two leaders will meet there.

The session comes at a time when many experts say relations between the two nations are at their lowest point since the Soviet era.

2. Bush won't listen to Putin if he says Bush should scrap ABM systems in Poland/Czech Republic
Bush never listens whenever the advice goes counter to the path he has already chosen.

3. Every time the Bushes are in K'port, the place is ruined for everyone else.
Huge no boating zone and no wake zone makes it hard for fisherman. Road closures and limited traffic on the motor route between the airport (small regional one) and the compound, massive SS presences for about a week before hand canvassing the route too.

Nice way start off the summer season, jerks. Why not go to Crawford?

4. That sounds like Poppy is getting pi**ed at the kid! He's screwing up
evrything for the entire Bush family legacy! I read somewhere else that Poppy was hosting this little meeting, and my guess is that JR is not going to be a happy camper after 2 people tell him he's an idiot!

5. If you're listening, Mother Nature...
July 1st would be a great day for a big ol' Nor'easter.

My apologies to my Mainer neighbors on the coast. :)
