What has Cheney got to hide?
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 09:54 PM by ck4829
Time to turn the RW mantra back on them.

Why bring in the Professional Paper Shredders?

Why have the Secret Service destroy documents?

Why keep what happened in the Energy Task Force a secret?

If Cheney has done nothing wrong, what has he got to hide?

5. I'm guessing the answer to your question is redundant! The better question is...
won't don't they have to hide? This Administration (if you can call it that) is a Hatch job at best, having stolen elections as they have... They are Squatters in the WH and the American people allow this to go on day after day.... How bizarre is that I ask you?

6. It has all been destroyed
Keep everything secret, destroy any evidence of wrong doing and destroy anyone who crosses you.
Result equal, nothing to hide.

12. A disconnected existence
That's Dick Cheney, if you look at the bureacracy that is Washington, it is only natural for someone like Cheney, who is a dangerous and uninformed maverick to wish to keep all comings and goings highly secret, not unlike the modus operandi of the Enron fellowship, and you see what that got them.

In fact, this kind of behaviour is not at all unlike the typical behaviour of the American CEO; I hate to say it, but it appears that multinational corporations have a more open book policy when it comes to the accountability of their chief operating officers.

Cheney, was a mediocre congressman, who had to swallow his hard line while in Congress and "make nice". Once he became chief of staff for Ford, he saw the opportunity for power grabs and learned like a good little student.

Then came the opportunity to sharpen his skills at Halliburton, and you must admit, it takes a lot to bring down a CEO; complete financial collaspe is the usual silver bullet of course.

But just look what this kind of behaviour has wrought in the business world: Sarbannes Oxley. A highly bureacratic and controlling piece of legislation which causes most accountants orgasmic delight. Every, single, document, action, move, and recording in a corporation is linked, and matched thru this piece of legislation.

What Cheney fears the most? his return to the business world and the specter of SOX hanging over his sun damaged head. His last halycon moments is his ability to combat those in the government who refuse to allow him to destroy or keep secret what is considered part of the public domain.

Bravo for the secret service; they protect themselves in recording who comes and goes from Cheney's residence; for if something were to happen to Dick Cheney, the Secret Service would be the organization that would be tortured and dissected in a post mortem analysis.

If anyone ever read the words of Clint Hill, who tried to protect JFK that day in Dallas, they would understand why the Secret Service is so violently opposed to Cheney's secretive machinations.

Here's where we miss the point, Cheney is the guppy in the fishbowl, and there's no hiding a single thing.

14. You're welcome
It's not a political observation of course, it's simply an observation.

Cheney is the one "in chains" and isn't that a merry little hell for one so delusionally self entitled?

Regards
Pace

and Welcome to DU

:hi:

Edit to add: I always thought that our government is being run like a giant Enron, and one of these days it's going to implode. So much corruption everywhere, the stock market has phony highs, Halliburton/KBR getting richer from the escalation of troops in Iraq.
