Meet the newest member of the Skinner family... It's a baby boy! (THREAD #2)

Perhaps you've noticed that I haven't been around for the past week. Here is the reason:



His name is Lucas. He was born on January 12 (less than an hour before DU passed 100,000 user registrations).

At birth he was 8 pounds, 6 ounces; 20.5 inches; with lots and lots of dark brown hair. Hobbies include: Sleeping, eating, crying, and pooping.

Mother and baby are both doing great.

I haven't been on DU at all for more than a week, and I haven't checked my email or private messages. I'll be on a sort of semi-parental leave for a while, during which time I'll be checking in and talking to the other admins, but I'm not going to be available full time. I'm going to try to get through my backlog of messages over the next few days. If you have a problem that needs admin attention, you'd probably be better off talking to EarlG or Elad instead of me.

Thank you for all of the good wishes you have sent our way these past few months.

But, really...Congratulations!!!

I hope you find having a son as rewarding as I have. I hope you and Lucas have "guy nights" when he gets a little older (watch movies together; cook out on the grill; play board or card games together, etc--you know: "Guy Night" when the women folk are out for the evening). Very special moments for dad and son.

Congratulations to the three of you. He has the same hobbies my own three had when they were babies. My oldest only had to pee in my face a couple of times for me to learn to put a diaper down on him very quickly, while removing the other one. Has he caught you yet?

Btw, my son was born with a huge head of black hair too....too bad he lost is within 8 to 10 weeks, as I recall.
