Rice lays guilt trip on Spain for hasty troop pull out of Iraq.
Rice was interviewed by Spain ’s state television TVE at the US
embassy in Madrid last night, at the end of her six-hour trip to Spain.

Spain’s decision to pull its troops out of Iraq in 2004 was made hastily
and without giving its allies time to prepare for it, US secretary of state
Condoleezza Rice has said.

Earlier she had met King Juan Carlos, prime minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero
and foreign minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Rice said that Iraq was and continued to be a very dangerous place,
adding that US troops were facing danger at the time Zapatero withdrew
the Spanish troops. She said the US should have been advised beforehand
to prepare for such a move.

1. And just what does this accomplish?
The war was VERY unpopular in Spain.

And the "sudden pullout" probably had no effect on the present situation.

This statement has probably angered Spanish citizens, most of whom never wanted to get involved in this folly.

Way to go, Condi.

2. Bullshit, Zapatero said all along that he would withdraw Spanish troops from Iraq...
Or is it because Condi couldn't imagine a politician that would actually keep a campaign promise?

4. And, in her response, Rice spit water at the Spanish ambassador thru the gap in her front teeth.
