OMG! Condi said something I totally agree with (but she might not)
In Spain, trying to take Zapatero to task for Spain's long-standing
policy of maintaining relations with Cuba, she came out witht his classic:

"I have real doubts about the value of engagement with a regime that is
anti-democratic."

Fair enough. If by anti-democratic, she means repression of a free press,
repression of dissent and curtailing of the right to demonstrate, manipulation
of elections to the point where the real results are altered, total or
near-total domination of the mass media, and over-use of security agencies
to spy on peaceful domestic opposition, then she has a valid point.

So valid, in fact, that she has just enunciated the reason that so many of
our former friends and allies doubt the value of engagement with her Bush regime.

If she stops to take a moment to reflect on what she said, she might wish she
had phrased her comment differently.

But, of course, she won't.

1. She doesn't consider attack as a form of engagement
She is thinking along the lines of marriage, similar to the one Tony and bu$h had.

2. I think that when she said "engagement,"
she meant contact, dialogue, etc.

She and her gang know all about "attack."

"Dialogue" in Bushspeak means: they speak, and everyone else listens.

WHich is why no one listens any more when they speak.

3. What about f*cking Saudi Arabia???????????????
The Saudi Madrassas are the hate-pits of the Arab world. 14 of the 19 "hijackers" from 9-11 were Saudi. BUT *wait for it......* THEY HAVE OIL. Lots and lots of oil. I guess to the Republicans Democratic = LOTS of Oil? Maybe that's why they insist on calling us the DEMOCRAT Party. Democrat"IC" has to do with OIL.

Now I get it. What a bunch of a**holes.
