Impressions, impressions from the debates
When democrats are on the stage we are getting mostly substantive discussions

as much as you can do that in 60 seconds

When pubbies are on the stage we get a bad episode of 24

Problem is... how many voters will go for substance and how many will go for "24"

1. I doubt the question about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" would be asked
in a GOP debate. I was glad to see a unanimous vote to get rid of it by the Dem candidates.

3. Agreed, but it was a startling comparison
the GOP had a bad script of "24" and these guys are getting actual substantive questions

It makes you wonder...

I mean the power the media has... and it is real... the right wing media

5. I loved Gravel's response.
It's DECADES overdue. Decades. It's ridiculous we haven't corrected this federalized bigotry. Shameful.

7. I'm sorry but I am VERY disappointed -
Will SOMEONE ANYONE show some balls and say the truth?

How would you fix the gas prices?

I WOULD HOLD THE DOOR TO THE WHITE HOUSE OPEN AS GEORGE W BUSH AND DICK CHENEY, OILMEN BY NATURE, were shoved THE HELL out into the streets!

Was "Don't ask don't tell" the right policy?

NO! Here's my policy...MIND YOU OWN DAMN BUSINESS BECAUSE WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MATTER IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DIE FOR THEIR COUNTRY?

And to WOLF -

"Wolf WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO BE ASKING THESE QUESTIONS WHEN YOU DANCED CHEERING WITH POM-POMS FOR MONTHS ON END CHEER LEADING THIS ILL FATED WAR!! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO BE ASKING THESE QUESTIONS!"

Health care...

CUBA HAS BETTER HEALTH CARE..HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL!

Please will someone, anyone, show some SAC!

I can barely watch this - same old- same old.

I know I am irrational, but I'm ashamed that NO ONE on the stage is willing to fire a howitzer and that bespectacled bearded prick -

8. My impression was that I would rather use coarse sandpaper
to wipe my ass with than to listen to these blowhards being questioned by the likes of leslie blitzer, and to the staged focus group tested answers they all seem to give.

So I left the room where my wife had this drivel on and came in here to get away from it.

9. Forget Hillary, even if she has a point about Iran...
I haven't watched yet, but this disqualifies her for me.

I saw the interview of Iran's ruler on CBS. The man is a real slimy piece and the questions were very straightforward...

10. H1b's provide 3 of the top 10 Silicon company's CEOs &many American jobs -the destruction of US jobs
Edited on Sun Jun-03-07 08:39 PM by papau
was a decision by US companies to move 400,000 computer programing jobs overseas - it was not the concept of H1b. Why the hell the companies could not just cut pay and restructure the pay path for programers I'll never understand - I though "flexibility" was the reason they demand the gov be so anti-union. But there sure did not show much flexibility with the programing jobs.

However H1b rules are currently a joke re trying to find qualified American help before moving someone overseas into the US. In the old days there actually was serious American job hunting with the possibility of an American getting a job. Now it is an ad in a weekly in Alaska and then bring the fellow over. A major major portion of tech PHd's are foreign born and it would be nice if we could use that talent in the US as it would build our companies and provide jobs for Americans that did not have PHd's.

I do not see H1b's as the problem - and our tech companies need the talent. But the outsourcing that is the problem needs to be dealt with - and to date only Hillary has any proposals on the table for this.
