Turn on US

....The privatization of war hands an incentive to American corporations, many with tremendous political clout, to keep us mired down in Iraq. But even more disturbing is the steady rise of this modern Praetorian Guard.....
War, with the huge profits it hands to corporations, and to right-wing interests such as the Christian Right, could become a permanent condition....
...
Chris Hedges... is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School and won a Pulitzer Prize as a foreign correspondent for the New York Times. He is author, mostly recently, of “American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America.”

I am glad to see something like this make it to the MSM - somwhat, very scary and horrendous. I think perhaps it would be good to send links and quotes- and voice our concern to more Media outlets and of course Congress.
Thank you to the Pulitzer Prize winning author!!!

1. It is too late, it is already a permanent condition
The armed forces of the US has already been amalgamated into the big business model
All of that was done while we were sleeping and enjoying the fruits of a "All volunteer" military. And it was done by extending the career path of the solder. First serve a few years as a ground pounder then graduate to mercenary at 100,000 a year...pr as an officer to general and then to some nice position in a major corporation and even TV star as a consultant.

6. Once defense (or offense, in this case) becomes privatized, there is no nation known as "America".
There is only the CORPORATION known as "America".

Because what would be left, then, of "government" and its functions?
