Emily's List called me asking for money tonight. What's a Progressive to do?
I told them that I can NOT give money to them any more.
That I MUST watch carefully that my MEAGER funds are
put into the hands of PROGRESSIVE candidates and ONLY
PROGRESSIVE candidates.

Told her that I was afraid that if I gave to Emily's List,
as I have in the past, that DLC candidates like Hillary
Clinton and Debby Stabenow might get my money.

She said, "but WE SUPPORT HILLARY!" I said "That's why
I can't give you any more money, please WRITE THAT DOWN!

She hung up on me...

Al Gore, will you PLEASE announce!

1. Good move.
I have direct experience with EL. They took a complete pass on a good and capable woman congressional candidate who was running against a repuke neanderthal for Congress. Not once, but twice. The money may well have made all the difference, too. The second time, they just took a good, long, healthy suck on Rahm Emanuel's ass and said no, after Rahm turned thumbs down. He had his own boy to run. Boy lost. Lost because he sucked as a candidate.

"Early money is like yeast", my ass. Just a bunch of self-serving beltway insiders, more interested in maintaining their own power and influence, then getting good woman candidates into office.

I have nothing but the greatest contempt for them.

3. I am staunchly pro-choice and have given to them in the past.
But I am just as staunchly anti-Iraq war and
anti-corporate whoredom for my country.

I have to target my money now.

:hi:

7. I agree with your statement. I also see that the lack of women in power has enabled
these problems to grow.

2. I got a call from Emily's List...
As soon as the person finished the first sentence in the script, I just said I support Obama and told her I was hanging up now...I was firm but polite.

Warts? No thanks...

4. reproductive rights will cease being a political issue when women are equally represented
in congress. Emily's lIst does great work. They have been instrumental in getting owmen elected. The imbalance of women and men in government is evident in the problems we now have-unprecedented problems too like climate change.
Emily's list is working to help solve these problems by getting women into congress.
Let's face it, we need the help.

5. Sorry about the typos I just get passionate about getting more women elected in congress
We've been in the minority in our government too long - Emily's List is the only group dedicated to this goal.

6. No, they are not.
They are dedicated to perpetuating their influence. If they were about supporting good woman candidates early, then what I experienced and saw would never have happened.

8. I'm passionate about it too.
But I'm going to have to identify GOOD women.

Women candidates like STABENOW drive voters into the GREEN PARTY.
