Information or the lack there of
The terror in Boston was caused by a failure of the media. The devices placed were in no way meant to be taken as bombs. Simply looking at them confirms this. Its a placard with lights, wires, and some batteries. So what went wrong?

Information. The media dropped the ball on this one. If they had wanted to convey proper information they would have found out what the images were (mooninites) and found out where they came from and done some investigations into what it was all about. Instead they ran with the story that would gather them more attention. Bombs. Bombs and terrorists.

As they fanned the flames of the situation the cops had no choice other than to respond as though a real emergency was under way. Anything less would result in a public outcry. Because the people have no means of finding out what is going on other than the media. And the media was enjoying the attention that bombs commanded.

So because of a lack of information a city was driven to panic. It was not due to the acts of Corporate Terrorists or Art Terrorists. All they did was placed light boards around various cities with a cartoon character flipping the bird. Say what you will of it that is not an attempt to cause terror. If it had been their intent to cause this unrest they would have worked harder to make it look like a bomb. But they made it look like a board with lights on it. Which coincidently was what it was.

The media failed again on this issue. It would have taken a phone call for them to find out what was going on. Instead they smelled blood in the water and stirred it up.

A Democracy cannot function without a press that is responsible to the people. A press that serves only profits will only serve itself. And in doing so will blind and deafen the citizens to the things they really need to know such as we are melting our planet or that we are involved in an unjust war.

2. I wouldn't just blame the media.
I don't think the media's that much different in all of the other cities.
