Wow Chris Matthews is just dreadful

I haven't watched Tweety lately but whoa is he bad. I couldn't believe his embarassing performance. First there was the interview with Sharpton and then the horror story of his panel with Kate O'Beirne, and two others. One was a former employee of Hillary Clinton and the other an African American columnist from the Washington Post. He talks over guests, he is downright sexist toward women (calling one of his panelists pretty and saying when you giggle I will listen to you). He talked over his African American panelist when he pointed out that articulate has been used to describe the likes of Powel, Rice and Obama but not Jackson and Sharpton. It is a total disgrace. We expect nonsensical tripe from FOX but Matthews is just awful.

I saw him a few days ago and he had spit or drool on his chin. I thought maybe it was a scar but when he came back it was gone. It wasn't a dribble, it was big and thick.

it truly was....pitifully dreadful...and I wondered if I was hallucinating...since no one brought it up here...(or I missed it entirely)...........I'm just calmed...by the fact that I wasn't imagining it......

I largely did so due to Daily Howler coverage which I wanted to see if it was as bad as he was saying.

But I cut him some slack compared to anything on CNN or on the other dregs. He has a serious medical condition and because of that, rightly or not, I attribute some incoherence to it. I think MSNBC is allowing him to ride awhile (through '08?) and will push him out of prime time to intermittent appearance on into retirement.

Tweety's name came up in testimony yesterday (Scooter's notes from conversation with Mary Matlin) and the fact that Mary said Tim Russert hates Tweety. Why no coverage of the trial - esp. since he is part of it. He seems a frightened little boy and afraid of the truth - like any garden variety bully.

I remember his trashing of Al Gore. He drools when he thinks he can get some dig into either Clinton. He likes to play the role of antiwar hero now, but his behavior when chimpie landed on the Abraham Lincoln to a mission accomplished was more like homo erotic swooning than reporting. He'll never get back to even normal in my eyes. Fuck the son of a bitch. He is living proof that this country is more poorly served by its political reporters than any other country on the planet.
