Around and around

News Item: Mitt Romney changes positions on immigration, abortion, gays in the military and gun control.
Mitt Romney when asked this week if it was "a mistake for us to invade Iraq":

"It's a non sequitur. It's a non -- null set kind of question, because you can go back and say, 'If we knew then what we know now, by virtue of inspectors having been let in and giving us that information, by virtue of if Saddam Hussein had followed the U.N. resolutions, we wouldn't be having this discussion.' So it's a hypothetical that I think is an unreasonable hypothetical."

Romney is learning the ropes. No need to change positions when there is no position in the first place.

1. His debate with Ed Kennedy in 94 was on Youtube and posted here.
He ran to the left of Ted back then. If he drove a car the way his political positions change, his license would be permanently revoked. He stands for nothing except getting elected. No doubt he'll moderate these new positions if he wins the primaries.

2. Every time I talk to a Repub who seems to be picking Mitt
(last night it was my right wing brother-in-law) I always say - "You know Mitt is really attractive and very smooth - he reminds me of Bill Clinton. He just has a way with words. We could sure use another Clinton type in the WH" All the BIL managed to do was sputter.

I don't, of course, believe there to be any resemblance but boy does it upset supporting Repubs to hear the comparison.
