I think I'm going to hurl
:puke:

Gattinoni presented creations with portraits of some of the world's most influential women, such as Condoleezza Rice, U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, French Socialist presidential candidate Segolene Royal. (AP Photo/Riccardo De Luca)

Nice juxtaposition with the word "Peace".

Methinks maybe the poo-bahs of the fashion world aren't paying a helluva lot of attention to current events?

Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 11:28 PM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
The bodice says "peace"

But Condi's head is overwhelmingly large and dominates whole creation, Plus, her head is surrounded with "explosive" looking adornments.

This dress in one sentence is "Peace is an afterthought"

edit for spelling

36. I have to agree --
I don't think the two were supposed to match so much as fight each other for attention.

Also, the look of her face - distorted like one of those old propaganda posters...

Either it was meant to make a statement or the designer is just dumb.

Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 11:24 PM by Stephanie

It's interesting and I like the incorporation of the sort of camouflage design. The "PEACE" bodice might be ordering the warmongering Sec'y of State skirt to observe the mandate of "PEACE" - the design might have any number of interpretations.

31. This is a very strange photo.
First of all, the model looks sort of forlorn and sad. This pic certainly doesn't project the 'attitude' models are known for.

The top and bottom of the dress seem incongruent. The font seems inappropriate to the image. The font seems playful, childish, whimsical. The image is just the opposite. KindaSleazyLiar is hard-lined and harsh. Her mouth appears snarling. The color bloc next to her eye is spiky and harsh. Is that how she sees the world? Doesn't look like a 'peace flower' to me. The color block under her mouth is softer and looks like waves undulating from her mouth. Are these the lies she washes the world in. Is this the lethal oily tide that she vomits over every living thing?

What's in a dress?

These couture people confuse me with their can't-be-worn-anywhere-but-a-runway costumes. My guess is he designed the dress so it would garner publicity and attract bluehairs with suitcases full of gold.

EDIT: Do take note of the camouflage belt and designs around Ms. Rice's face. Perhaps the designer is trying to convey a conflict between the bodice and the skirt.
