Ground Beef Recalled upped to 5M pounds
The ground beef products subject to recall were produced between April 6 and April 20 and were shipped to retail stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. They were sold under brand names Moran’s All Natural, Miller Meat Company, Stater Bros., Inter-American Products, Inc., and Basha’s.

4. and where does all that recalled meat go?
I always had the vague assumption that they turned it into fertilizer or something. Betcha it's reprocessed into dog food or school lunch meat.

6. Produced two months ago?
I know nothing about meat production, but my guess would be ground meat from two months ago would all be bad now.

7. Flash frozen maybe.
Could be longer really. What always got me about anything being sold that there is an acceptable amount of rat feces in it. I tell you i find no level of rat feces acceptable.

12. there is nothing *natural* about this beef at all
ever since it was put into a CAFO it was fed a diet of grain it has not evolved to digest and so it has been sick, not to mention stuck shoulder to shoulder with a few thousand other poor creatures in the same miserable boat. In addition to the unnatural diet they were all fed hormones so they would get to slaughter weight faster and it and of courseantibiotics so they wouldn't drop dead from the disease and pestilence from the conditions of all these sickly beeves crammmed together milling about in their own filth.

I totally agree with you. We're not going back to buying from the store.

Edited for clarity--I'm just dizzy.

13. This is interesting!
If you go to the fda.gov homepage there doesn't seem to be a link mentioning the beef recalls, even if you click on the FDA newsroom. Yet, there is a Class I recall in affect (most severe) for California and other western states, in addition to the recall affecting Walmarts in other states. Do you think the Beef Industry might have something to do with this? (Moran's....LOL).
