Texas: University of Dallas Cancels Bid for Bush Library
Texas: University of Dallas Cancels Bid for Bush Library

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: January 23, 2007
The University of Dallas withdrew its bid to be the site of President Bush’s library, citing the site selection committee’s exclusive talks with nearby Southern Methodist University. Last month, S.M.U. emerged as the favorite site for the library with the announcement of the negotiations, putting it ahead of the other two finalists, the University of Dallas and Baylor University in Waco. Mr. Bush said last week that he was “leaning heavily toward S.M.U.” and was close to a decision.

1. There are plenty of folks...
.. associated with SMU who are not happy about the idea of a Bush lie-berrry.

3. How bad could it be?
It's not like it will take a lot of space. I understand it will house both books Bush has read!

4. gee, couldn't *'s "library" fit in a lunchbox?
who the * would even want to be associated with that loser's "library"?

I wish I could find the link now, but for years there has been a story about a reporter who stayed overnight at the White House (or maybe, more likely, the "Bush compound" at Kennebunkport?) back during Bush Sr's term. This person was awake in the middle of the night looking for some reading matter and could find nothing at all except for "The Fart Book." I imagine that TFB will take a prominent place in *'s "library" (remembering his juvenile fondness for farting and considering, as the only book in his home as a youth, it must have been influential). :eyes:
