DUers with Democratic senators: Will your senator vote "no confidence"
in Gonzales?

I see this as a turning point even if it only comes close.

It's futile for me to even try; my senators are Kyl and McCain. what I can make of this is yet another blind allegiance to Herr Boosh abd I will definitely let my fence-sitting friends (Republicans and independents who aren't happy with the administration) know.

2. After both my "liberal" (D) senators caved on funding..I don't know.
Though I did expect Cantwell to vote for the funding, I was surprised by Murray.

So, with that record in mind, we'll see if both were playing politics with the funding, or will do the right thing on Gonzo.

7. When I first was able to vote, we had DeConcini. At least they were very polite
when I called.

McCain's and Kyl's people can barely hide their contempt.

5. I think PA gets the bonus,
Casey will vote no confidence and I have a pretty good suspicion that Arlen Spector will also.

8. Specter might be interesting. If he feels he's lost his power
(as the administration has been trying to do), he may just up and do the right thing out of a sense of justice and, well, SPITE.

He's unlikey to run again anyway.

14. I think your post #11 is the reason why
Specter will join in. It's a safe vote, Gonzales has very little (if any) support outside of the Bush Cadre, so I don't see why Arlen won't do it.

6. I believe Harkin will
Although after his disgraceful caving in on the Iraq funding bill it's hard to tell. Grassley, no chance. He'll vote to support Gonzalez all the way I suspect.

11. I think theis vote is less risky, politically, than the occupation funding vote.
I'm wondering if the Democrats in the Senate might see it that way as well. I don't see this being dredged up at re-election time like the funding vote will ("Senator So-and-So voted to take armour from our troops!").

I see this as a turning point of a sorts--a less risky chance to get in Bush's gface.

13. It's a sad commentary on the party that this is a
legitimate quesion. If the tables were turned, the repukes would be in lockstep and the pressure for a resignation would have been so overwhelming that the corrupt AG would hae been gone long ago. The repukes would never settle for a public slap on the wrist.

To answer your question, Boxer, yes. Feinstein, maybe.
