Bush Calls Vote on Attorney General `Meaningless'
Bush Calls Vote on Attorney General `Meaningless' (Update1)

By Edwin Chen

June 11 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush dismissed as ``meaningless'' a planned Senate vote today on a resolution of no confidence in U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, America's top law enforcement officer.

``To me, it's political,'' Bush said at a press conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, calling it ``a political resolution on my attorney general that's going to have no bearing on whether he serves in office or not.''

...................

Gonzales initially said he knew few details about the matter, but his now-departed chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, has testified that the attorney general was more involved than he told Congress.

``They can try to have their vote of no confidence, but it's not going to determine -- make the determination, who serves in my government,'' Bush told reporters. ``There's been no wrongdoing.''

5. Bu$h is correct. It's all right here:
"They can try to have their vote of no confidence, but it's not going to determine -- make the determination, who serves in my government,'' Bush told reporters.

It is no longer the people's government. It is now owned by the Bu$h Crime Family. Read it and weep.

3. He's right.
It doesn't say what he wants to hear so it has no meaning to him. And unfortunately, the bill has no teeth. We need to impeach them all.

4. I read that Bush doesn't dare get rid of Gonzales.
He is one layer of protection for the WH. If he were to go then the WH would be even more open to disclosure of all the illegal things they have been doing. So he has to stay no matter what.

9. That's because it WAS meaningless
Exactly what force does a "vote of no-confidence" have in the US government, especially a "non-binding" one? Nothing.

Bush has already demonstrated (repeatedly) that he'll do whatever he wants unless FORCED to do otherwise. A toothless non-measure like the VONC has zero impact on him.

once the dems caved on the iraq funding bill bush knew he could get away with anything despite the elections of 2006.
