Is Hillary hatred like Viagra to CHris Matthews?
Or is he just an unreconstructed misogynist and Hillary is his natural target? I don't know but a Hardball show that fails to bash Hillary is like a day without sunshine for Tweety.

And by the way, for voters who see Hillary as competent but not likable, I would gently remind them of what happens when we get the opposite:

2. I find the Iraq war that Hillary supported repulsive, it has nothing to do with her gender.

4. That's valid, and I agree with you.
But the talking head noise, today, is all about some poll on her likability versus her competence.

3. His obsession with Hillary is bizarre . . .
I often notice that he's obsessed with the non-policy-related things about her: her marriage (does anybody remember that interview he was doing with some strategist when he kept yelling, "Is Bill behaving himself?!"), her speaking voice, etc.

And when he does talk about her stance on the issues, he gets it wrong - I heard him state on several different shows that Hillary was for keeping permanent bases in Iraq (which she isn't). I finally e-mailed the show about that one.

6. Maybe, like the Coulter thing, Tweety is secretly obsessed with Bill Clinton...
...and sees Hillary as the cause of his unrequited "admiration."

5. You are insinuating that ** is likeable? He's not likeable enough to even be Hillary's opposite. nt

7. Well...
..you're preaching to the choir. But I was thinking of the frequently aired "Bush is a guy you'd want to have a beer with" meme, when I wrote that.

8. No, this is Tweety's viagra.

Just the mention of the word "flight suit" makes Tweety cream his boxers.

By the way, your post implies that Bush is incompetent, but likeable.

Bush is not, and has never been even remotely likeable.

10. Ewwww!
And what do you mean by saying that Bush is not even remotely likable? Don't you know that everyone wants to have a beer with the guy? It has to be true because the media keep saying so. /sarcasm

9. Tweety's Hidden Demons
Maybe it's his Catholic upbringing, but Tweety has a real problem with powerful women...he feels intimidated by them...they should be seen and not heard. Meanwhile, strong men...which he perceives as Rudy, are to be revered like some religious figure...one who is infallible. In Tweety's "All In The Family" world, Hillary should be more like Edith Bunker...subserviant than a Gloria.

12. I remember Tweety from the late 90s
Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 08:19 PM by chaumont58
when he first got his daytime show. His obsession with both Clintons was appearent even then. That was back in the days before blogs, at least I didn't know any.
Every once in a while, a rumor would surface that Tweety(by the way, not called Tweety in those days) had wanted to be press secretary for the Clinton Administration and was passed over. I saw the rumor several times, but never seemed that strong. His obsession is like that of a scorned lover, so the rumor could very well be true.
Sometimes it is funny, sometimes it is disgusting, but it is sure as hell is consistent. If Hilary is elected President(and I think she has a better than even chance), Tweety's head will explode. That would be something to see.

13. I finally gave up on Tweety. He'd have a couple good days a week for Dems then he'd go off Meds
and start raving about Big Men, Giuliani, McCain...asking more and more weird questions and he started doing this weird grin when he'd say something really freaky about a Dem and look off to the side to his producer like he was nodding for approval.

Between MSNBC's Crime Dates/Abused Women/Stalkers Under Your Bed and the rest of the Weird Tabloid stuff ...I had to give him up. He just wasn't doing anything interesting anymore. And...he just was Weird and Creepy.

Today he soooo wanted his guest to say bad things about Hillary ("Why do people hate her so much?" he kept asking), that when she didn't answer in the way he wanted, Matthews talked over her. What an obsessed ASS!
