8. Universal health care?
Well John how are we supposed to pay for that after the trillions that will be spent on the Iraq Debacle. Not to mention the grand Iran Adventure you seem to support.

9. Looks like they might have a point
If this non-binding resolution passes, with the main concern not being the welfare of the troops, but avoiding embarassing Bush, then the Democrats will be shown to be weak.

And the Repubs will use this to their advantage come 2008.

15. It IS weak of the Dems. It IS an advantage to repubs for Dems to be weak.
It IS disgusting. The surge is ON. Iran most likely on too. Get this Administration and the CYA Dems out. Period.

5. Well when the people tried to warn Edward's against the IWR
he chose to ignore them, wouldn't even give them an audience. It takes a lot of gall to invoke the image of fallen soldiers when he played a part in sending them there.

Edwards says it is time for political courage. What is courageous about espousing the results of the latest polls. The time for political courage was when he opted to CO-SPONSOR and vote for the IWR. What a phony.

how many of the Democratic Presidential Candidates didn't do just as he did FOUR years ago? - He apologized in 2005 and I for one, am willing to let it go and let them (all of them) move forward.

27. So in America you can just say I'm sorry, now elect me the
next commander-in-chief? That's really taking responsibility for your actions. But what the heck, the war has given some great images for Edwards to use in his campaign speech.

With your approach, what message will that send to future elected officials - if there is a war - vote for it (heck you can even co-sponsor it and be front and center cheerleading it on). Then if it's a debacle and support for the war plummets to an all time low you can come out and apologize for your vote and all will be forgiven (what's trillions of dollars borrowed and wasted, and thousands dead and injured).

I guess all of the people directly impacted by this war should just suck it up and easily move forward.

20. If we don't, we are not a whit better than the Republics. Not a bit.
If, as a party, we stand for what we say we do, this is the fight that needs to be fought and we will rise to it.

22. I wondered if I was alone, watching Edwards and weeping. I am glad to know you watched too.
It was the speech of a life time. Magnificant! Regal! Humble! Worthy and Human.

I am logging onto Edwards's website and giving him money. Now.

I am overhwhelmed with his class and conviction and determination. He is not fooling around. He is one serious man, and I love him all the more for it.

He sure seemed to have a lot of support in that audience, didn't he? He's right, all the dark things going on now...it doesn't have to be like that.

30. I felt like I was being pandered to by an experienced personal
injury attorney. Obama definitely came of as more authentic (of course authenticity is Edwards new buzz word). Though, if you are authentic and real do you really need to tell people that you are?

28. Looked as if Edwards went over very well. Here and there the
camera turned to the audience and I saw people nodding to each other.

Well-honed speech. At my house we loved the passages about workers and health care.
