Schumer--"without rule of law, there is no freedom". It is 4:00 am central time,
I'm watching C-Span2 and I just want to cry. Schumer was great, McCaskill is up now. I don't think I can take much more.

I'm so sick of it all.

The vote on a resolution about Gonzalez failed.

G'damned.

He and all his staff have shredded the Constitution, the rule of law.

WTF?

NO CONFIDENCE? Is this the best we get?

How about removal from office? Is that out of the realm of possibility? Guess so.

1. I would have liked to see it passed.
I guess when one hangs on coat tails and does the bidding he is asked to do he should be treated like this plus he has harmed the constitutions. I say to hell with Bush and his crazy ways and all that helped him do it. What is that old quote of Tolstoy? Some thing about if you can get evil men to gether to make war you can get good men together in the same way. We sure got our fill of a group in DC that seem to want to take the Constitution down so we can have our little King. They have sure been trying to make over the DOJ along with just about every agency in the fed. govt. Sorry business.

5. Yes I am sure the German's went through much of this.
I knew a German boy that fought us in WW2 and was born in NJ and brought home by his German born parents at the start or the war and went through it all. The youth camps etc. and he said his mother did every thing to get him into a 'safe' army group so he would not be blown up. His uncle had walked home from Russia with two legs gone using what ever means he could to stay ahead of the Russians. People who loved their country and went back to a real hell. Odd that the Germans put their loyalty into the hands of a man and not their Constitution. Even men who seem to be good can be the wrong person to be loyal to.

3. failure at cloture may not be a complete failure
the republic were afraid to go on public record - they essentially cut and ran to sit on the fence.

if they 'support' Gonzo so much, they wouldn't be afraid to vote on the actual resolution.

or they could have introduced their own resolution for an up/down vote in support of Gonzo.

Schumer pointed out in his remarks that of all the republics who stood up to speak, only Hatch actually said he supports Gonzo. None of the other republics indicated any direct support for gonzo and their remarks were centered around talking points designed to divert/re-frame the debate.

4. freedom came before law.

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, ploughmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."
"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

I was listening to this but not paying any attention to what he was singing, only listening to the music was me.

San Diego Colluseum, early '69 Janis Joplin, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix, in that order for $2.50, all at the same concert. All I can say today is WOW, Thanks for reminding me
