Whaaaaa? Will Guiliani run as a republic? Form with little check box left blank-intentionally
February 2, 2007

WASHINGTON - Republicans looking at Rudolph Giuliani's campaign for president always ask two questions - is he really running, and is he a "real Republican?"

They're probably not going to like the answers found by Newsday in Giuliani's government filings.

The ex-mayor still is holding back from submitting the simple one-page form declaring himself a possible candidate, despite raising $1.4 million to run. And asked what party he belongs to on a different form, Giuliani didn't say - he left the answer blank.

1. Nobody speaks to Republican core values better than Giuliani.
As to whether he exemplifies them might be another matter, however.

It's doubtful Rudy's behavior will play in Peoria, to say nothing of Mississippi and Alabama.

3. Let's hope the Ayatollah Robinson will run
to split the repuke party. Whoever yells Jesus the loudest will win the GOP nomination.

4. It really pisses me off when people deliberately mutilate the
English language in a vain effort to be snide.

Run as a Republican. As a member of the Republic party, if you will. We are Democrats. They call us Democrats. We belong to the Democratic party. They call us the Democrat party. Therefore the proper response is to call them Republicans who belong to the Republic party.

Anything else makes us look as stupid as them.
