Isreal will be our Proxy for Attacking Iran
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 01:29 PM by Perky
No they are not going to invade.. but they will bomb the nuclear facilities and try and take out the brain trust.

The moderat arab states (Sunni) will feign scorn but the Saudis will be happy about it..

4. I don't think that's been settled as yet
But one way or the other, the effect is the same. Likud equals neo-con

2. The Saudis aren't going to be happy...
When Syria and Iran launch reprisals against Israel, and key American cities within Saudia Arabia.

7. Not going to happen
Two Carrier task forces. 100,000 troops next door.

Thery know the consequencses.

I heard last night that Iranian agents are apparently helping Hamas and we know they are backing Hezboollah and purportedly Shia insurgents in Irag. That means they are backing SHia against sunni governments in Lebanon and Palestine and fighting Sunnis in Iraq.

This has to concern Egypt and Saudi asw well as the UAE and Jordan.

17. Right, right.
And the war in Iraq will only last a couple of weeks.

5. Well, sure.
It's always smart for a tiny flea of a nation to attack a dragon with 71 million people. Brilliant.

When the United States was militarily strong and could protect Israel, it was one thing. But we can't do that anymore, can we?

But thank you for injecting DU with today's anti-semitic speculation without any proof but personal bias.

9. TRy again
I am fully in favor of Isreal right to historical lands and would have little tension with Israel taking action against Iran,

It just occures to me that an israeli-sunni pact might be the way forward

6. Seems to be the hope of many here.
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 01:50 PM by Behind the Aegis
For a "progessive and liberal" group, seems many here are almost giddy at the prospects of an attack on Iran, especially from Israel, all the while, feigning how awful an attack would be. Just as the right works on demonizing countries, that job gets done here on a daily basis.

On edit: added the word "be" to subject

8. What the ... ?
Who is giddy? Tell me now. Point me to a post.

What a ridiculous and freeperish thing to say. "Liberals want us to lose... Liberals want the economy to do badly..."

I'm $#&@*^%( sick of hearing it from THEM, and I damn sure don't see any reason to read that nonsense here!

10. take a spin around the GD and GD-P
You can find those posts, it's not difficult. They're the ones that will be screaming, "told you so." They have already lined up the reasons, the methods, and only vacillate on the dates, depending on the author du jour.

12. So... when people are right in their predictions... to you, that = giddy?
Please explain your reasoning there.

No reason for me to go looking for something that only exists in your mind. (and visiting freeps, too, of course)

13. "Seems to be" giddy
What is so difficult to understand. It really isn't. Your post has all the workings of the right, "you're with us or against us." There are those here who are looking for every little thing as "proof" that war is inevitable. There is the "doom and gloom" group and the "spoiling for a fight" group. The second group is just looking for one more reason to hate this administration, as if there aren't enough reasons as is. There have even been posts supportive of responses similar to the ones in Iraq (Osrick (?)).

14. Huh?
So anyone who sees war as inevitable is giddy.

Makes absolutely NO sense to me, but... whatever.

Have a good day.

15. Not what I said.
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 02:09 PM by Behind the Aegis
But, then again, I am thinking you don't want to see it. Not everyone predicting war is seeming to be giddy, I would say the vast majority are very worried, which is why I said "some seem to be" but, that seems to have missed your radar.

On edit: My original post said "many" and not "some." My mistake. I don't think that many are seemingly giddy, only a select few (some). I apologize, I can see how that read now.

I think we'd have to hit Moscow and Beijing for that.
