Angelina Tries To Bar Fox News From "Mighty Heart" Red Carpet...
But Jolie turns out to be a mighty hypocrite when it comes to her own freedom of the press. Her lawyer required all journalists to sign a contract before talking to her, and Jolie instructed publicists at first to ban FOX News from the red carpet of her premiere.

4. Fox, as usual, gets it wrong
Angelina Jolie can talk to whomever she wants to talk to, and Fox doesn't have any First Amendment "right" to cover a private event. Just ask the other journalists who have been excluded from Republican rallies and fundraisers in the last six years.

Les pauvres!

11. O'Reilly really crossed the line with me when he said
"Who cares if a bomb goes off in Tikrit?". Well, I do. My son, a Marine, is on his third tour.
So, Bill-0, I care.

have a RW Op there for her premier if she doesn't feel it is appropriate.

Faux is going to have to learn if they want to be a true news outlet, they may have to start doing things differently in a fair and unbiased way.

Also, I refuse to give Faux any clicks on their website.

10. I'm with Jolie on this. Fox isn't legitimate
and after watching the video of Bill O'Reilly repeatedly saying "who cares if a bomb goes off in Tikrit" I think all decent people should boycott Fox. This is the "news" organization that labeled Obama a terrorist for attending Islamic fundamentalist schools. He didn't. Plus, Fox said the story came from Hillary. It didn't.
Fox is not legitimate.
The Dems are right to not appear on Fox's debates and Jolie is right to ban Fox from her premiere.
Freedom of press doesn't mean you have to take on all suitors. You get to choose who gets your time. She's not advocating eradicating Fox. She's just not willing to give them another forum.
Good for her.

23. More than Fox
unless you have specifics on "People" calling Obama a terrorist ("this is HUGE!"), sliming Hillary with lies (well, SHE's the one who called Obama a terrorist -- not true.) or saying "who cares if another bomb goes off in Tikrit?"-Bill O'Reilly.
If you have examples from "People" committing outright lying for political purposes, please provide.
Otherwise, I really don't get your comparison.

31. She's boycotting Fox
because of their track record as a "news" station. That's what Fox says they are. They don't represent themselves as "People" which is an entertainment magazine.
See? Two different animals. One says they're a "news" organization. One is an entertainment magazine.
I'm not comparing her stance to the war in Iraq. I'm explaining her (and my) aversion to a "news" organization steeped in propaganda and deception. I gave you examples.
Sorry you "doesn't get" the comparison.

41. No. It's the "let" you don't seem to
understand. It's her party and Fox isn't invited. She is breaking no law by not inviting Fox in. She's a citizen in a free country. She doesn't have to invite you or Fox to her party.
Why this battle for you? Why the insistence on having Fox present? Is it because Fox is the tabloid network? Their coverage of Iraq consists of 15% of their programming. MSNBC covers Iraq 33% and CNN covers Iraq 21%.
So much for supporting the troops.
Fox DOES have a 2-1 edge on the Nicole Smith/Paris Hilton coverage compared to the others 24 hr. news stations. Yep. All Paris. All the time.
Maybe Jolie doesn't like the company.

30. Actually, yes. PEOPLE is exactly what it claims to be - an entertainment/celebrity
tabloid.

FOX, however, is not what it claims to be - it is a propaganda machine pretending to be news.

33. Well said, Joe.
The whole comparison to "People" is absurd.
Fox "News" has a track record of lying about the news. Jolie doesn't have to accept their presence. As citizens, we don't have to talk to Fox. If a person finds himself/herself the center of media attention, he/she doesn't HAVE to let Fox in. The person can refuse to speak to Fox on the basis of legitimacy.
And more people are shunning Fox.
They're not pulling Fox off the air. They're merely refusing to engage.
And we all have that right.

OK, that contract she was putting out sounds a wee bit beyond the pale, but Fox News deserves to be dissed by people more important than Hollywood stars.

18. She shoukd get right in their faces..and either turn her head or back to all their cameras or put
her hand into the lens of all their cameras..she has that right..she has the right to her own free speech..

...or she should look directly into their cameras and say..you are not a news organization, you are propaganda and i do not do propaganda network interviews! I believe that would do more by going right to their cameras and say..why did you bother to come here ..all you do is spew propaganda..about the war..about Daniel Pearle..about everything...why are you here?? go ass kiss the * liars some more..that is what you do..so don't waste your time here..because i will not allow your propaganda around me!!

that would wake more people up than not allowing them there!!

honestly think about it..if all the cameras are focused on her and go on all the networks..at her premiere...she shoukd go right to theit cameras with all the other networks watching and she should make a statement ..you are destroying this nation with your propaganda..and i will not tolerate that in my life or for my nation!!

i would get right in their faces..and if fox won't show the footage ..all the other networks sure as hell will!!

She knows the facts..now she should get right in their faces with the facts!!..she should face them with facts!!..and stick it up their asses!

and that way her freedom of speech will count!

It's none of your business what I have or haven't donated, or who I may or not have adopted......I don't have the need to draw attention to my actions each and EVERY moment of my life.

Charity is NOT some contest where the richest publicity seeker wins, dear.
