Fired Attorney Cummins To Bush Admin: "Apologize For Calling Me Lazy"
WASHINGTON -- Former Arkansas federal prosecutor Bud Cummins demanded an apology from the Bush administration on Wednesday over a former White House aide's assertion he was fired last summer for being "lazy."

Sara Taylor, President Bush's political director, made the comment in a Feb. 16 e-mail that was made public on Tuesday as part of a congressional investigation into the firing of nine U.S. attorneys.

Among them was Cummins, who was forced aside to make way for Tim Griffin, a Magnolia native who once worked in the White House political office and retained connections there.

"I deserve one, an apology, if somehow this 'lazy' issue is a suggestion I was fired for a performance reason," Cummins said Wednesday. He said other fired prosecutors have been "drug through the mud in ways similar to what happened to me through the revelation of that e-mail."

Taylor wrote "Bud is lazy -- which is why we got rid of him in the first place," in a message to Kyle Sampson, former chief of staff to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

4. They don't have the votes. The repigs will do what they do best...

They'll cry and cry about the unfairness of it all. They know that they are toast come '08, but they know how to carry the water for their fucking piece of shit president.

Oh, don't count on holy Joe. He sucks too.

5. But it's NOT a choice. Congress is supposed to file articles of impeachment
when there is evidence of "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

The foregoing REQUIREMENT of our Democratic Republic (filing Articles of Impeachment) is NOT an option! - you can't say, "I know that they are guilty but we won't charge them because the minority will not give us the votes."

Also, the EVIDENCE that will be shown the light of day would well be worth NOT having the votes in the end, i.e., educating the American People could serve us to win A LANDSLIDE for Democratic candidates in 2008.

6. I'm not disagreeing that all of BushCo should be impeached, but

the Dems don't have the votes.

Hell, I'd vote for public h_ _ _ _ ng of the lot, but I know that I won't get it.

8. But they MAY very well *score* the votes if they BEGIN Impeachment Proceedings.

My point is that, once all this evidence is shown the light of day, even the whorish M$M can NOT put a positive enough spin on it to BLOCK this information getting to The Average "over worked" American Citizen. Theses citizens will create a ground-swell of discontent that EVEN the Republican representatives will not be able to continue to support The Unitary Executive.

HOWEVER, our illustrious Democratic Representatives have to dig-deep and demonstrate "the courage" to try ... to FILE the Articles of Impeachment and do *what's right* NOT what's most politically expedient for their individual careers.

I think we agree. However, to me, it's well worth the RISK of one's career to do what is morally sound. If you were a representative, could you continue to pretend that we do not have CRIMINALS in the Executive Branch ONLY because you don't have the votes, NOT because *you believe* they are not TRULY CRIMINALS?

10. If I were a representative I would be in line to impeach,
unfortunately I don't believe that they are going to do it.

Now if Bush had a blowjob then everything might be different, but he's only responsible with wrecking a foreign country, the deaths of 3,500 US troops, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, illegal torture, illegal wiretapping and using the constitution as TP.

:sarcasm:

11. And if they do NOT, we need to hold the leadership accountable by voting for their next
primary contenders. I don't give a damn about their seniority, if they value their personal careers over doing what's right for the American People, e.g., not impeaching because they MAY not have the votes in the end, then they deserve to lose their seat.

I'm going to work with MoveOn.org in order to hold "the leadership" accountable. We are not being served well, IMO, by either Rep. Pelosi nor Sen. Reid.

16. I can think of several thousand pissed-off soldiers
who'd be up for an invasion of Paraguay, along the lines of 41's misadventure in Panama to nab Noriega.

"For war criminals? The death penalty!"

9. Nah, he's still stupidly loyal
Cummins said he doubted President Bush was aware of the plan for his firing or allegations that followed it. For that reason, Cummins said, he remains loyal to his party and the president.

"I don't really know any reason that would force me to condemn the administration or the president," he said. "I would be surprised if he ever heard about this silly plan until it went south."

13. Anyone who makes a comment like that *is* lazy.
Perhaps he should try to put a little more effort into his cognitive processes.

7. OK...which one of you guys made this call several weeks ago?
That the fired attorneys wouldn't have made such a stink except that they were accused of laziness, or not doing their jobs properly, or otherwise impugning their professionalism?
:nuke:
oooh...they shouldn'ta oughta done that...bad move.

Good call. :patriot::yourock:
