Rapture-Ready explains media bias.
http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=291894

<snip>
Trying to be fair, the media chase the "squeekey wheel" the whiners, and the loudest protesters because it makes good press. They believe readers prefer reading about or watching stories where the rules or norms are being broken. It makes the other sinners feel more acceptable. The more they read about others breaking the rules, the better they feel about themselves. Imagine if the TV newscast stated, " There were no abortions today in Alaska. And in other news, no one took the Lord's name in vain today at the local pot luck dinner." This stuff would make them feel bad about themselves as if it were being reported to compare the listeners behavior to the good stories. So, the march against abortion is not-good-press. It makes people feel bad who have had one, and those who want to get one, and those who don't want to go through pregnancy and 'ruin" their bodies or spend money on children or whatever. Am I making any sense or just rambling here?

Do you really want the answer? Personally, I think you're certifiable.

1. Didn't Anne Murray do a song like that?
A Little Good News
You are viewing lyrics of A Little Good News by ANNE MURRAY from the album ALL OF ME (2005) at LyricsAndSongs.COM

I rolled out this morning...kids had the morning news show on
Bryant Gumbel was talking about the fighting in Lebanon
Some senator was squawking about the bad economy
It's gonna get worse you see we need a change in policy

There's a local paper rolled up in a rubber band
One more sad story's one more than I can stand
Just once, how I'd like to see the headline say
Not much to print today can't find nothing bad to say

Because...

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD'd, nobody burned a single building down
Nobody fired a shot in anger...nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

I'll come home this evening...I'll bet that the news will be the same
Somebody takes a hostage...somebody steals a plane
How I wanna hear the anchor man talk about a county fair
And how we cleaned up the air...how everybody learned to care

Whoa, tell me...

Nobody was assassinated in the whole Third World today
And in the streets of Ireland all the children had to do was play
And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA
We sure could use a little good news today

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD'd, nobody burned a single building down
Nobody fired a shot in anger...nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

3. I haven't head that song.
I just love the idea of every newscast telling us who didn't have abortions. :eyes:

4. Wow. Just wow.

"It makes people feel bad who have had one, and those who want to get one, and those who don't want to go through pregnancy and 'ruin" their bodies or spend money on children or whatever. "

Where do they get this stuff?

6. They get it from under the rock where they've been living.
Apparently we're fighting hard for reproductive freedom for cosmetic reasons. :eyes:

8. One problem lady, I've had a medical procedure referred to as an abortion and I didn't
feel bad then and 30 years later, I still don't feel any more remorse about it than having my tonsils removed.

10. No one took the lord's name in vain at the local pot luck?
Must not have been very good pot.

I guess this guy wasn't there:

"Look, all I said was, that piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah!"
