Is Neo-Conservatism (And Neo-Liberalism too) just another way of saying "Far Right"?
What is the difference being a Neo-Con and being on the Far Right?

Ever since the Neo-Con led invasion of Iraq has happened, this is what has happened to the Iraqi People and their Nation.

Worker's Rights
Worker's rights in Iraq are still low and Labor Unions were not mentioned in any of Bremer's decrees, meaning they could be suppressed.
Suppressing Labor Unions is what the Far Right does

Corporate Powers
Corporations in Iraq have become more powerful, with foreign corporations are allowed to 'share' in Iraq's wealth
Giving Corporations more rights and powers is a Far Right thing

Social Freedom
Does anyone really think you can be gay and in Iraq? How about be of a minority religion? This has not been addressed in any way by the people who lead the occupation.
Destroying social freedoms is something the Far Right does

So, are these new ideologies of the late 20th century just a way of hiding that you are an adherent of an Ultra-Right Wing ideology?

1. Neo-conservatism came from liberals unfortunately
At least that is what I've read here at DU, the neo-cons were libs and then they became neo-cons for some reason.

6. Only those who were liberals out of a sense of fashion
and still couldn't get laid in the 60s and early 70s. They got angry at all things liberal and became the neocons we know and loathe today.

2. Know your neocons---
"Neocons" believe that the United States should not be ashamed to use its unrivaled power – forcefully if necessary – to promote its values around the world. Some even speak of the need to cultivate a US empire. Neoconservatives believe modern threats facing the US can no longer be reliably contained and therefore must be prevented, sometimes through preemptive military action.

Most neocons believe that the US has allowed dangers to gather by not spending enough on defense and not confronting threats aggressively enough. One such threat, they contend, was Saddam Hussein and his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction. Since the 1991 Gulf War, neocons relentlessly advocated Mr. Hussein's ouster.

Most neocons share unwavering support for Israel, which they see as crucial to US military sufficiency in a volatile region. They also see Israel as a key outpost of democracy in a region ruled by despots. Believing that authoritarianism and theocracy have allowed anti-Americanism to flourish in the Middle East, neocons advocate the democratic transformation of the region, starting with Iraq. They also believe the US is unnecessarily hampered by multilateral institutions, which they do not trust to effectively neutralize threats to global security.

3. The neoconservatives
who are in Washington DC should not be confused with those who are in power in Iraq.

4. Neocon/neoliberal are pretty much synonymous in my mind.
The Far Right is a little more diffuse. Many on the Far Right are anti-corporatist, anti-government, anti-"New World Order," while the NC/NL ideology is interested in empire-building.

Mayn on the Far Right are religious conservatives, while the NC/NLers are areligious and amoral, but see religion as a tool for controlling the masses. Many people moved from the far left to the far right, but that was a move from one anti-democratic camp to another. Horoitz is a prime example.

8. The Far Right may include social or fiscal conservatism.
Neoconservatism concerns primarily foreign policy, not gays, abortion, or the other concerns of social conservatism. Many in the GOP/Bush admin right now are a combination of both. A few are one or the other. You can be far-right (Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul, Chuck Hagel) without being a neocon. You can be a neocon without really giving a crap about gay marriage, immigration, or government spending.
