we had more and more show up as the minutes passed. This video was at 9 am and by 11 we had a huge number

1. Good!!

Public protest is genuinely important work. I'm saying that not just because I protest too, but because I've seen the effect that it has on one's community. People are changed because they saw you out there. You're teaching a lesson that no one else will give to them.

3. Our weekly Sunday demonstrations always cheer me up.

There are very few ugly responses anymore. People like us and honk and wave; some even cheer as they drive by. I stopped going to church a long time ago and tell people I belong to the Church of the Streets now.

Be the People's Media.

Keep it short, but stimulate their thinking. Street corners with traffic lights work best for getting people to actually read your sign. Foam core board is stiff enough to stand up and doesn't need a stick to hold. Try to give voice to the People's latent thoughts. Thoughts work better than personal insults to build "readership" and, hence, ***Community***.

My next sign is going to say: "War is Social Abortion." - on one side - and "Pro War + Pro Life = A Lie" - on the other side. What do you think?

in Iraq serving.

And of course all the dead Iraqi women, those raped in prisons like Abu Ghraib.

War is always lousy for women.
