MINNEAPOLIS
A veterans group opposed to the Iraq war was cut from the lineup in a parade at a large community festival on Minnesota's Iron Range Saturday.
"Three weeks ago they told us we could be in their parade," said Gary Sorenson, president of the Duluth chapter of the national Veterans for Peace organization. "Then on Thursday someone called and said we were uninvited."
The festival's parade goes through downtown Virginia and includes about 80 floats and other participants, according to the Land of the Loon Web site. Members of at least one other veterans group, the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, marched in the parade.

The final explanation offered Saturday, Sorenson said, was that the group was cut because organizers didn't want anything "controversial politically" in the parade.

One of the excuses was it scares the children? The float is all writing.
Why is killing people classified as not WASA OK, but objecting to it is not for so many?
