Harris Poll results leaked, 54% of likely voters favor impeachment.
Edited on Sun Jun-17-07 07:49 PM by Jackpine Radical
34% oppose, 12% undecided or refused to answer.

My source, Deep Doodoo, insists that these results are accurate and challenges Harris to prove him/her wrong by publicly releasing the findings of their poll.

1. 54 + 42 + 12 = 108%

Neato.

15. Ok, that's funny. But it's not true.
Because these results make sense.

16. It was truer (and funnier) before I corrected the numbers
so that they now add up properly.

17. My point was that a Diebold would never report ...

54% for impeachment. A Diebold "error" would have reported 2% for impeachment, and 96% for sending a dollar to a random oil company, out of love and respect.

18. Thanks for the clarification.
I take your point, and wasn't reading carefully enough. My initial post really didn't make sense because of a numerical error.

19. No worries

Typos suck. You can hand me a page of printed text, and my eyes will generally find the typo in seconds.

I really didn't want to derail your thread, as it shows once again that the American populace may be a little more in touch than I give them credit for. A 54% is a shock. I would have expected that to be much lower considering how many people still think Bush does a good job.

4. Shouldn't that be 32 for a total of 98%?
With rounding that might even be plausible.

6. Never quote statistics from someone whose initials are D.D.
(That's maybe too much of an inside joke. DD is sometimes an acronym for developmentally disabled.)

5. I don't think there is any question about it
The media ignoring the massive screw ups and giggling at anyone who suggests the "I" word is the only thing that keeps it from being discussed broadly

Harris online polling consist of controlled samples and is legitimate.

26. Online polls are still unreliable
Zogby conducts online surveys with controlled samples and they are pretty inaccurate.

Telephones are still the best way to go.

8. Tell it to Pelosi.
At this point, given the laundry list of impeachable crimes and misdemeanors already committed, if Bush and Cheney, costumed as Hitler and Eva Braun, set up a blood-stained altar in the well of Congress and conducted live human sacrifices they still would not be impeached/convicted and the media would give them a free pass. I've given up all hope on impeachment.

We're making progress. Damn slow progress, to be sure. But all that tells me is that we need to ramp it up.

up on PG&E polls: "Impeach Bush".

And *I* didn't put them there.

13. Those who are undecided or refuse to answer simply don't care about what's going on.
This administration is very black & white: one only has to decide if they care about their personal well-being or not. It's as simple as that.

29. K*R Impeach him now along with Cheney. Here's a crime to start with, #1 on the list
Election 2004: The Urban Legend

Did you know Bush had 2 million less votes in the rural sector in 2004 than 2000?

Did you know that rural America contributed 16% of total votes in 2004 but 23% in 2000?

Surely you knew that the "big city" voting segment was up 66% in turnout in 2004 and that Bush went from 26% in 2000 to 39% share in 2004?

Bet you didn't know Bush took election 2004 on the basis of gains in the "big cities" (over 500,000)?

That would make Bush the first president to get reelected who lost his base (rural America) and gained in his opponents base (the big cities).

All based on public data, no math degree required -- a true "urban legend."
