Not to name names, but some people spend more on shoes than Democratic Representative Dennis Kucinich spends running for president. A report released yesterday by the Federal Election Commission revealed that the Cleveland vegan had shelled out just $380.31 for that purpose as of the end of '06. (The next most frugal candidate was California Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter, who laid out $22,371.68.) Calls for an accounting (Pumas? Potato chips?) have so far gone unanswered...

As one of the commenters noted, we certainly don't have to worry about Dennis being in bed with corporate interests!

3. This is meaningless
It just means he started the committee. It's a matter of paperwork.

4. Dennis has never raised money.
From his early City Council races, to Cleveland Mayor, to his house seat.

If he has one fundamental weakness in a presidential campaign, it's fundraising ability.

5. He has fundraisers,,,,
I went to one in Santa Monica in 2004 and contributed to his campaign, as did a lot of other people there. It was held at a private residence, and you had to contribute $50 to get in, and there were a lot of people there, including Richard Dreyfuss and Mimi Kennedy.

11. Don't look at it as a negative; it isn't intended as such
Spending money at this point in the campaign would be largely pointless. I personally like the fact that he isn't wasting funds unnecessarily.

7. Bleachers is right, this is a totally stupid report the editor should've killed at birth
If he spent any MORE than that, I'd be pissed, considering the race really starts this year
