2. Must be a hormone thing. The 5 pizzas a day couldn't possibly have anything to do with it.

11. It was a probable cause. Maybe it was 5 chickens. A lot of food in any case.

3. Gastric bypass surgery is probably the only thing...
That is going to allow that girl to live well into adulthood.

The Return of 400-Pound Jessica

For the past three weeks we have brought you the story of JESSICA, the young girl who reached 400 pounds and was forced to get around by rolling because her morbid obesity made it difficult to not only walk, but even to breathe.

But happily, a dramatic transformation has begun for the bright little girl. "The Insider"'s VICTORIA RECAÑO traveled to Jessica's hometown just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, where she was hospitalized with breathing problems.

Soon after her hospital stay, Jessica was able to take the first steps in battling her weight as she headed to a children's hospital in Virginia. It was there where she successfully lost nearly 300 pounds!

Although significantly smaller and now capable of doing what other children her age do -- like playing with a hula hoop -- Jessica still suffers from the ramifications of being overweight for so long.

Jessica gradually became bow-legged as she grew, her legs unable to withstand the pressure from the extra pounds, resulting in a number of surgeries to help repair her legs.

Pins and braces were implanted in her legs to help straighten them and they will most likely be removed in the next few weeks.

To see how Jessica looks now, watch tonight's "Insider."

5. What the hell?!
What the hell happened to this child? What the fuck are the parents feeding her or does she have some disorder which does not allow consumed fat to be burned? I couldn't imagine such a disorder but I'm no doctor (unless you're single).

I saw an odd looking girl on Oprah, like maybe 10 years ago who had unusual features. Kind of looked like children with premature aging syndrome, but didn't have it. Anyway, though the girl was very slender (and about 7 years old) she was constantly hungry. Her mom was on the show with her and recounted her eating anything and everything. When they'd run out of food in the house, she'd sneak into the freezer and eat hotdogs, completely frozen, along with anything else including (IIRC) raw shrimp.

It was truly odd, as this case appears to be. I hope it's not another case of parents working up some food eating complex for their child then enabling them. I grew up in Louisiana and down about a little place called Delacroix Island it seemed as though everyone- men, women and children were morbidly obese. Not just obese but morbidly obese.

I used to wonder (and still do) whether or not it had something to do with genetics, a rich Cajun diet or some disastrous mix of the two.

Anyway, I hope the little girl recovers and I hope the problem is something medical instead of the parents. Because at least if it's medical there's a hope for her.

12. There is no "disorder" that will allow a person to gain more weight than is eaten.
Unless they've discovered a way to violate the basic laws of physics and chemistry.

6. How in the hell is she still living with her parents?!
They are irresponsible, and probably thought it was funny that she could eat a dozen donuts at a time. If they send her back, you know she's going to just get as big as she was again!

8. Yeah, god forbid we stop searching for people to blame and look for a solution
Being a morbidly obese person, I can promise you, pizzas it ain't.

But people who want a reason to feel superior, will grasp one.

The child needs compassion and help, not blame and scorn.
