9. I think so, too. From the first time I saw it.
I do want to express regret for our own GumboYaYa for his excellent documentary Can Mr. Smith even Get to Washington? Though I know he was probably rooting for Al as much as anyone.

We are just happy to havebeen included on the shortlist of doc films. All of the nominees in this category are very good films and deserve the recognition.

7. No, he will probably not get a statue but he will get the credit
Generally the statues are given to the producers of the film, although they will very likely bring Gore on stage with them if it wins. And because most of the actual content of the film is Gore's work he will be remembered as the real winner.

13. But ask CNN - this is not significant...
I just got an e-mail that "Dream Girl" was nominated. Surely, I would have gotten an e-mail from CNN if this is significant!

14. Documentaries are usually not in the top tier of Oscar noms.
And Al Gore is not up for an award — the film's producers are.

16. Just had a vision of him accepting Oscar (looking handsome as all heck) & getting a standing Ovation
and him having to ask the audience to sit.

I loved this doc and I love my President Gore!

17. He won't be able to accept and Oscar (he's not eligible for one), but I'm sure
he'll be on stage with the producers and the director.

18. In your wildest imaginings, would you ever see those numbers reversed ?
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 02:53 PM by eppur_se_muova
If Gore had been elected AND NOT BLOCKED BY THE SUPREME COURT, what could he, as President possibly have done to get his ratings down to 28%? And if Bu**sh** had lost before the SCOTUS, could you see him accomplishing ANYTHING worthy of note as a private citizen -- even with the usual "helping hands"? If he hadn't been handed the pResidency, he'd be a nobody -- as thoroughgoing a nobody as is conceivable.
