People here are informed, be they Dems or worms. Most do not need to read each thread, and cherry pick anyway.

I'd rather not have a lot of insubstantive commentary added, if that's how to keep afloat.

I'm more discouraged by the sheer volume of fluff and by a seeming inability to keep some order. Lots of threads start when the poster should be enhancing a thread on the same subject. I think that's part of what you are pointing to. Instead of just kicking, I'd like to see substantive additions.

Think about DU threads as an outside observer doing a web search. They land in a DU thread for the first time. What do they get!

Think also about which DU threads never show up in a Google search return, and which are the highest ranked for certain keyword combinations.

I just searched for "William Mateja" to further develop my latest investigatory compilation thread. My own thread came up as the 6th result in Google. The thread was only just started Fri Jun-22-07 at 08:24 AM, less than 36 hours ago.

enough posts to keep it active without my posting to it which is a big error on my part because I forget GD moves at lightning speed sometimes and threads can disappear off page 1 in minutes on those occasions.

In GD, some important things sink very fast. Also, there are a lot of good archived threads that are suitable links to new news, for background and avoiding doing a lot of work over again.

there's an occasional one that really deserves to float to the top. And just remember, I'm the messenger, I don't write this stuff, I just occasionally want people to see something important.
