Can the neo cons be arrested for ANYTHING?
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 05:26 AM by Philosoraptor
I'm not convinced impeaching these assholes is worth the time and effort, and it certainly won't stop them from committing more atrocities, however arresting them for actual crimes would be quicker wouldn't it? And if they were in jail they couldn't kill or steal anymore.

Determine that yes, they have committed high crimes and treasons, and then proceed by the law, totally bypassing impeachment until later if needed.

1. Ugly Times, They are Acomin'
.
As Bush and Cheney waltz into the sunset with their blood-soaked ill gotten gains, laughing at the rest of us, those who helped them to get away with their crimes are going to be feeling rather exposed. The incoming administration will not have to be willing to take the heat and protect the underlings left behind. The underlings will watch as the bosses leave the office knowing the law will come for them. The laws are quite clear. Giving an unlawful order is against the law. And oh so many orders have been illegal.

Now is the time to be planning for more investigations of the criminal activity and malfeasance. As example, Gonzales has shrub's protection. Hurrah. When shrub walks out the door for the last time and Gonzales will be on his own. Like so many more underlings, no one will be there to protect them anymore. Maybe this is the time to be trying to make deals with the legal system for protection in exchange for higher ups. The legal system will be coming for the lower order crooks.

This will be messy. It will be fun to watch. But it is also a terrible stain on USA.

2. Read Talking Points Memo...The Parade Has Quietly Begun
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 06:11 AM by KharmaTrain
Remember, until last January, all we had was rumor and our worst fears (since realized and then some) as to the wrong-doings that are going on. The only legal messes that arose came strictly from the hubris, stupidity and greed of the Neo cons and their enablers. But it was a start. Consider Abramoff as the first domino...with it has come the slow drip of facts and incriminating evidence that has put several GOOPers behind bars and more on the way. But, again, that is just the surface. Abramoff landed in our laps...as did Foley and DeLay and the other crooks that will make the past 6 years known as the most inept and corrupt in this republic's history.

Impeaching is a quick, feel-good thing. It's firing someone...but it doesn't address the crimes. We're just starting to get that evidence. As expected, it's not going to be easy...and I'm not satisfied with the pace things are going, but at least they're moving forward. We're headed to court battles, but we will prevail and they will be worth the fight as the true corruption and crimes of this regime will be revealed...real crimes, real evidence...that can be taken into a court and prosecutions and convictions can happen. There's no equivelent in the political realm...impeachment doesn't do squat for the underlings...the future Roves and chenneys who will be the future neo-cons unless we stop them now.

History will write the ultimate verdict on george w. boooshie. And it won't be pleasant. We certainly will remember these years as the darkest we've lived through...and many others will also remember the corruption and ineptness of this regime. THAT legacy will stick to the Repugnicans for many years to come...and we need to be sure those responsible are never permitted to rise to power again.

Cheers...

6. It is obvious that our system of "law" has become a joke...
...selectively ignored, selectively enforced, applying to some but not to others. So tell me again about this "nation of laws" that I hear so much about?
