Is the left (collectively) afraid to end the Iraq war or is it
that they don't believe there is enough support to end it?

It seems a lot of people want the war to end (I hear it everyday away from the blogosphere), but there are mixed signals online ranging from resignation (U.S. troops are never leaving) to fear of what happens if the U.S. withdraws. Yet everyday the situation in Iraq worsens.

2. The left has been told that it's all over, so don't even try...it's the EMBASSY.
Keep that in mind. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. We're only there now in order to finish the embassy and the bases and get them online. The rest of this "insurgent" bullshit is manufactured. BushCo has laid it on the line for them. "We've spent a gazillion dollars, thousands have died, and you guys are going to pull out and make it all for nothing? Hmmm...how will that sound to the American public?"

Remember, remember, the month of September...that's when the embassy is set to open and, coincidentally (not) we get the next "progress" report.

4. The left? Who Dat?
This lefty was against it from the start and has been demanding an end to it all along. I am not alone. The Remnants of The Left, what is left of us, have been consistent and consistently right, puns intended, in our opposition to and analysis of the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

So who the heck are you talking about? The War Party poseurs in congress?

5. Or, is the Admin. hanging tough
till the Iraqi parliament passes the Oil agreement? The one that gives the profits to out-of-country Big Oil corporations.

6. If by the "left" you mean our elected "D" representatives, you are assuming
...that they give a crap one way or another.

It ain't like it's them over there fighting. There are a few with either the stake or the nuts to try to do something (Webb, Kucinich) but the vast majority either want the war to continue because they think it's an albatross around the GOP's neck or they don't give a crap and don't want to appear "soft" to their people at home.

9. There are no assumptions.
There is a right, a center and a left. You can respond with your own qualifications.

12. Neither.
The left is ready and willing at any time. The not-so-left who have adopted the labels "left/liberal/progressive" are another story, of course.

They are afraid to take a position in opposition to their corporate Democratic leaders.
