I fear that many voters won't associate the Republican party with Bush

I realize how absurd that sounds, but I think there are a lot of voters out there who consider Bush and aberration and would gladly vote for a "good" Republican -- e.g., Rudy, Thompson.

I live in a rural and red area and the pukes around here are all whining about the candidate slate

and check out my thread from my step mom in northern Louisiana, she's not happy either and said none of her friends are happy.

4. Then it is incumbent on you to make the connection with every sentence you speak

Say it this way: "Bush and the rest of his Republicans ...." did such-and-such or so-and-so, or you can say "You know, he's always been head of the Republican Party and even to this day they march in lock-step to his call". Just say it over and over, not only because its true but because if you continue to make the connection no one else will deny it.

People will need lots of reminders from us that W is an R. his own party ain't gonna say it.
Also they need to be reminded that Reagan sucked big time also.

'split' district seem to see the (R) as a monolith. LOL, and *that* was their last plan/hope - to build Rove's permanent (R) majority...hoist on their own petard.

The same way Bill Clinton associated Bob Dole with Newt Gingrich in 1994. We have to constantly remind people that these guys were *'s loyal and obedient servants until it became politically inconvenient to do so.

MUST hang Bush on the Republicans like a picture on the wall.

It needs to be the "Republican/Bush/Iraq war" instead of just the Iraq war. The Dems muddied this up by providing funding to continue the destruction of our troops last month, but it is still a GOP/Bush war.

They wanted it. They envisioned it. They designed it. They lied to get it. It's theirs, like it or not. They own it.

about that. The dems have to make the connection whenever they talk about *. They can't let them cop out now claiming that they didn't know or didn't approve what the administration did when they ok'd it with every vote and nomination. It's the Republican party and the conservative philiosophy that have gotten us in the mess we are in now.

... Just like christians don't associate killing, child molestation, etc. with their religion by the ad hoc device "they aren't really christian".

It's more important to these people to protect their party, or their religion from criticism.
