Repubs can't wait until Sept, the Nightmare is engulfing them RIGHT NOW.....
Bush with approval ratings of 26%.
Bush has angered the voting block that must remain rock solid for Repubs to win--RW conservatives
who hate the immigration bill he is promoting.
Cheney's approval ratings have remained in the 'teens.'
The military generals on the ground know the 'surge' is not working.
3 of 4 AMericans believe the war was a mistake.
38% of Repubs like their slate of Presidential candidates for 2008, and none of them beat the
Dem frontrunners one on one.
Federal criminal investigations and Congressional investigations march on the parade of
Repubs resigning marches on.

When the summer recess is over, action will have to be taken to begin pulling soldiers out of Iraq.

Repubs know that they cannot go into 2008 on the side of the war in Iraq which has only 30% approval and hope to be reelected.

Lugar, Warner, Voinovich, and now Sessions are paving the way for other Repubs to break with Bush over the war in Iraq. IT is now OK for other Repubs to break with the President.

IF you were a Republican 3 rs ago, and you woke up to read what has already happened, you would be afraid... very afraid. Welcome to the Nightmare Repubs!

They thought the CONFLICT PHILOSOPHY was the winner....so they backed a CONFLICT sort of GUY....They liked it...they liked it so much they stayed with the President even as he was doing wrong...here and abroad.

Now that their investment turned sour...they still wish to stay on as REPUBLICANS...with the same PHILOSPHY?? Don't these guys See? Comprehend?......Bush is only a SYMPTOM....Its the basic PHILOSOPHY that the Pubs have...that is the Problem...Their Problem that is...What is that Philosophy? MEism.....Them Pubs have an absence of Generousity/Altruism/Benevolence......Nope....for them...ITS ALL ABOUT ME....

4. The Rethugs are done...
They have dug their own grave. Not one of those Rethug candidates has any chance of winning in 2008, its Clinton or Obama.

6. I think they are going to dump Cheney.
they can do that without admitting any fault (can you imagine). He will just plead HEART and step down. Fred Thompson waiting in the wings to replace him.

They are scared, no doubt.

8. The CIA's 'family jewels' show how far today's NeoCons will go to remain in power...
Edited on Wed Jun-27-07 03:55 PM by Blackhatjack
I thought for a long time that Cheney would resign because of 'health problems' before the next 2008 election campaign season hit full swing.

Now I am not so sure....

NeoCons appreciate the danger they are in now that so many of their leaders have been forced out of office. Cheney is the lone NeoCon leader they depend upon to manage the levers of power.

Take a look at the Libby case and you see the friction between Bush and Rove vs. Cheney etal. Read the WaPo 4 part series on Cheney and his control of Bush and the WH. Now imagine him giving up that power and walking away..... I don't see it.

If anything, NeoCons would gladly trade that scenario for one in which Bush becomes 'incapacitated' and Cheney takes over as President --even if only for the next 1.5 yrs. In that amount of time, a new front could be opened in the Middle East by attacking Iran and dragging Syria and Lebanon into the fray. Nothing less would ensure American troops presence and control of the Middle East oil for decades to come.

It is far fetched to think anyone can accurately predict how this whole thing will play out. However, knowing the plans and motivations of the NeoCons makes them predictable --and I would bet that the above scenario has been 'gamed' already by them.
