Lowest level of support for Iraq occupation reported - republicans support slipping
In the latest CNN-Opinion Research Corporation poll released Tuesday, 69 percent of those polled believe things are going badly in Iraq. Seventeen percent think the situation is improving.

Thirty percent of Americans polled say they favor the war, the lowest level of support on record. Two-thirds are opposed.

Anti-war sentiment among Republican poll respondents has suddenly increased with 38 percent of Republicans now saying they oppose the war.

Moreover, 63 percent of Americans are ready to withdraw at least some troops from Iraq. Forty-two percent of Republicans agree.

Fifty-four percent of Americans do not believe U.S. action in Iraq is morally justified.

4. The really
shitty part is that they (GOP) are losing support because we are losing this so called war:
  • not because attacking Iraq and the occupation are immoral and in the opinion of many illegal
  • not because too men women and CHILDREN are dying for nothing
  • not because we have degenerated to torturing people and inflicting other horrors on people
  • not because its destroying our military
  • not because its draining our Treasury and bankrupting our country

2. "Seventeen percent think the situation is improving."
far fewer than the number who believe angels are sitting on their shoulders

fewer. I suspect, than the number who believe the world was created in 7 days 6000 years ago

hell, it's probably fewer than those who believe the world is carried on the back of a turtle

but still, it is scary to think those 17% are walking around amongst the sane
